Juniper Hills (Northboro, MA)- Thoughts?

My golf buddy thought I should give this a play. Anyone play recently? Conditions, PofP, Interesting Holes? Worth the $?

I run an after work league, we just moved to Juniper from Stow. They have 2 courses - Riverside is an older course, easier and more wide open. Lakeside was built in the 90s and is a more modern style course and much tougher, especially the back 9. Conditions are OK. not great but not terrible. Greens are fairly slow but consistent.

I prefer Lakeside, interesting bit of trivia it starts and ends on par 3 holes. I don't think either course is especially notable but Lakeside is a solid track. Just do your scoring on the first 12 holes, because the stretch of 13-17 is really challenging.

Update here, they completely lost all the greens many weeks ago. Can't recommend anyone play here until 2021.

Played here yesterday (Sept 7) because golf buddy booked a foursome with two other friends.  Greens are totally shot.  Probably some of the worst greens I have ever seen.  Some type of mite disease the clubhouse said.  20% reduction in greens fees as a result.  Temp green on #10 Lakeside.  Rest of the course was fine and in decent shape.  We played Lakeside.

Would be a good play with decent greens.  I would wait until next year as idl says above.

Yeah, a shame that this happened. They started giving our league a $5/round reduction without us even asking. Not sure I buy the story about the insects since nearly 100% of the greens are gone and it's the only course I know of having this problem. I suspect they may have furloughed staff during the shutdown and missed some early season maintenance. We're winding down our season and teams not in the playoffs are just not showing because they don't want to pay even the reduced rate to play.

On the flip side, the 10th green Lakeside did look good, surprised they still have a temp green as it was there a month ago when we played that 9. There's also a temp green on #14 Riverside.
