The tour ix is the ball that rivals the Pro V1x - and my personal opinion - playing the X for the longest time is you cant be the X the IX is a great ball just not as good as the X - personally. The Tour i however is a great ball and I would play that over the ProV1 anyday. Sorry if this made it more confusing for you but thats my opinion. Go try a sleeve of each and see which ones you like the best.

After playing the V1x for a few years I was looking for a ball that had all of the same characteristics but had less short iron spin on full shots.

Thought the Red LDP was it, but the Red was lacking the hard check I need for pitch and chip shots.

The Tour i is "that ball"! For me it is a bit longer with irons and driver, a bit softer with putter and driver, it has less spin from the 7 iron down, yet it checks hard around the greens when I want it to.

If you like that V1x but want softer feel with a tad less spin on full shots but still checks hard on that low 3/4 wedge shots this is your ball...

I'm not sure what kind of weather the guys are playing in that say the tour I is harder than the 1X. From my experience the i is softer and more durable than the V or 1X. The Callaway iX is very similar to the Titleist 1X and long as well. I think that they are both great golf balls, and never liked any of their other golf balls. I can hardly wait to see what Titleist comes out with.

I've been playing the Tour i for the last 2 weeks and they have been the best ball I've ever played- ever.

I could go on about the low driver spin and the excellent greenside control and the soft putter feel but the clincher is...

DURABILITY!

These babies take a licking and keep on ticking. Played the same 2 balls for 35 holes until I gave them up to the golf gods on the 18th today (read: water hazard)...both barely had a mark on them. and could have held up for another round easy. No shreds, no bad scuffs or major defects after a lot of golf. You get your money's worth with this ball, hands down.
