Choeppner's Enzo Zone 70 Shaft Review

Hey Guys,

I was lucky enough at the show to meet the guys from ENZO Shafts. Really great group of people. In the course of our discussion, we came to the topic of my swing and my shaft. Prior to this, I have been hitting the Taylor Made Tour Burner TP with the Diamana Whiteboard.

A little on my specs

Age - 28
Height - 76"
Average Swing Speed - 115
Average 7 iron Distance - 170
Average Driver Carry - 285
Average Driver Ball Flight - High
Handicap - Scratch


Nw that that is out of the way, let's get to talking about this shaft. They fitted me with a Zone 70 Shaft in X Flex. One thing I noticed right off the bat that I really liked, was the sticker on the Butt of the shaft that lists the specs of the shaft. Here is a picture of what I am talking about:




Now..This shafts paint scheme is not for the faint of heart. It is EXTREMELY Loud. LOL As you can see, it is a NEON Yellow that reminds me of a Banana:






I have mine installed with the Logo down, and it fits my eye pretty well.

I had the chance to try the club on the monitor today before a Scramble. Previously, I was spinning the ball like crazy. We're talking 4800 RPM's . Yeah...Alot. LOL

I knew I liked the ee of the shaft, and she was working good for me, but I wanted to see if there was anything to the shaft. The numbers don't lie.

Here are my numbers from the Monitor Today:

Height - 94.1 Yards - A little high, but workable
Ball Speed - 178 MPH
Backspin - 2982
Launch Angle - 14.7*

Needless to say, I was blown away. This shaft feels great, looks great and flat out PERFORMS. I took it to the course again this afternoon to play in my Scramble, and I have to say..She performed AMAZINGLY. Got a TON of comments on it. I let a few of the others on the range try it, and they all had the same comment...SMOOTH!!!!!

All in all, I am EXTREMLY happy with this shaft. I do not know how I have missed this company in the past, but they are DEFINATELY going to be going in all my woods this year.

I agree Chris....I won one of their first Zone 70's in a golf tourney and I must say that smooth is an understatement....It was almost too smooth for my liking....It is one of the best for the value shafts out there...Its Matrix like smooth, so nice

I put this in my TB TP Head, full insertion, no tipping, and no butt trimming. It plays to 48.5 inches. I was first worried when I installed it that the shaft would have too much flex or lag in, but that has turned out to not be the case. I really love the head, and have been wanting a re-shaft as well...me and the whitebord havn't been seeing eye to eye lately. With the whiteboard, I was hitting some pretty high shots that would literally either plug in the fairway, or have no roll out. With this, I am getting the rollout and flight I like :)

48.5" holy cow! My driver at 44.5" would look like a midget next to yours, lol.

 

Sounds like a great shaft that fits you well.

I use their iron shafts and hybrid shafts, too. Very very nice. I urge everyone to try them. I am going to try the driver shaft in the next week or so. Feel certain it will work great, too.

I have a Zone 60 R in my KZG Q ML. It is a bomb. the feel is very very nice. Great shaft!! Better feeling than a VS Proto and Accra T70 that I have recently owned.

I wish the Zone 70S I had in your KZG Q would've been a little more stout. It was 246 cpm's Raw. Kinda soft for my liking, but hey, it worked out best for you. :D :ok:
