You guys made me reconsider

I hit one twice yesterday on an indoor launch monitor and smoked it both times.

I was ready to buy it but for some reason didn't.

Came home are did a Search on this site. Nobody here has much good to say about them. I'm all about forgiveness and seems that is where they lack.

I liked the old Mizuno FliHi. Maybe I'll back to one of those.

Go with what works for you...

I am using the 503H 22° as a 3 iron replacement, and love it. Very easy to hit. Easy up and great distance control.

I have hit the 503H 19° as a 2 iron / 5 wood replacement and hated it. Couldn't get it airborne.

However, the 19° is a fantastic 2 iron replacement for someone who is young and strong and has a high ball flight. It's not for an old fart like me, I am much better off with the Baffler.

I should probably try it on the course.

The golf shop is a local one that knows me well. If I don't like it I'm sure they'll give me full store credit. Hell, it's in the used bin. They'd probably let me take it to try before I buy.

I don't really have a gap to fill. The long end of my bag goes-

3 wood-Cleveland Launcher Ti 15* 240-260 yards

TM Rescue 2 16* steel shaft 230ish

Titleist 962 2 iron 200-215

Titleist 962 4 iron 190-205

It's just that I find that I almost never use my 2 iron. Part of it is confidence. Part of it is that I feel if I have to hit a precise shot from 200+ maybe I better play to an AREA and not a pin, in which case a 4 iron or Rescue usually will do.

I guess looking at the above chart a club I can hit 200-220 would make sense.

I totally agree. I hit my 22deg 503 great, it's very versital and I think it's pretty forgiving. In my experience it's easier to hit the more "wood" like hybrids when your talking 19 degrees or less. Good luck.

I've got a 19* 503-H and it is always in my bag.....replaced my 804-OS 2-iron. I may be in the minority, but am very happy with the club.

The 503h is more forgiving than a blade, but I am shocked that anyone would play this club after comparing it to clubs in its category. There are other clubs out there that offer similar trajectory, look and control with more forgiveness. A players club with huge offset; that makes zero sense.
