Are these irons precursors to the RAC LT irons?

I've been having some elbow pain so I want to pick up a set of graphite shafted irons to see if that helps for practice sessions on range mats during the winter. I came across a good deal on some TaylorMade 320 irons. The head doesn't look too bad, especially since I have played TM 300 irons and RAC LT irons in the past.

Does anyone have any feedback on TM 320 irons? I wonder if the feel cartridge, and copper plug may have eventually morphed into the insert of the later RAC LT irons. I remember that TM's designation went from 300 (low handicap), 320 (mid), 360 (higher), and the 300 irons have an almost cult-like following, but was there any tech built into the 320 series?

Is the 320 series comparable to the RAC LT lines? Or would the 320 and 360 series be more of the generic lines sold in larger chain sporting goods rather than golf specific shops?

Taylor Made only had one line, and the 320s were targeted at a mid-capper as you stated.

There is a pretty big difference between RAC LTs & 320s, especially in feel. 320s have an unusual 'clunk' sound on impact. Performance is okay, but sound/feel is definitely different.

I think you can do better with some of the older Callaway "X" series irons with graphite.

I hit 'em at Golf Galaxy last year. They had a used set for like $80. Surprisingly forgiving. I'd game 'em.

I played the 300 Forged for almost 10 years but I think that the 320's would be fine for an extra set. I think that they're more similar to the RAC LT's than they are different. I would say they're more forgiving than the LT's but are definitely a quality clubhead. Honestly, I don't know how much graphite is going to help with the elbow pain but keep us posted...

320's were definitely the precursor to the rac LT, i played them both. Both were great heads. the '04 LT were less forgiving than the 320, and i would say the '05 LT2 were about the same forgiveness wise as the 320.

Many thanks for the great feedback. They sound like they might be worth a try. $90 for a set with graphite shafts seems like it would be worth the experiment.
