You will likely need to go to atleast a 6.0 in px. 5.5 is considered firm. 6.0 is considered stiff.

The KBS will play stiffer than the PX 5.5, even though they may have better "feel". They will probably launch about the same, the PX maybe a little higher based upon your driver SS. This is all from my experiences between the two shafts.

Nice sets, I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

How does a KBS stiff play stiffer if both the KBS stiff and PX 5.5 are both 6.0 in the rifle scale and the PX is more tip/butt stiff?

Different strokes for different folks.....I started out with r9 tp's with kbs tour's stiff flex. They felt like a regular flex compared to my old dynamic gold s-300's.Flight was to high and misses left.I then went to kbs x's soft stepped once, they still did not feel as stiff as the dg's but I picked up a full club in distance. My flight came down quite a bit but still miss left now and then.So I just finished building a new set of r9 tp's with x flex straight in this time.I have not hit yet.Kbs shafts feel way softer than what they spec out at in my opinion.I have not hit the px's so I can't comment on how they feel.I did play some rifle constant weights in my cally's years ago and they were okay.I love the feel of the kbs shafts but it's very much a personal preference thing. My driver ss is in the 110 range also.Try the px's since they are already in there but with your ss in think you may need to go stiffer. My 2 cents

thanks for your input,

going to play with both sets with shafts as is, see how it goes,

will use the R9 tps with kbs for the mo as most of my golf on heavy parkland, when the summer comes and gets better over here, i will use the B heads for links golf , got a hit a few balls to get them flying, those offset R9 tp s good for the confidence at the mo,

Would agree that, for me, the KBS Tour was much more of a "feel" shaft. I went from PX 5.5's to a set of KBS Tour stiffs and thought they felt more lively and responsive than the PX's did at what is supposed to be a lighter flex. Probably has quite a bit to do with tempo and release variations between players/swings.

To me the PX's either loaded or they didn't, no in between. That meant it was full shots or nothing with them if I wanted good distance control. The KBS tours seem to load however much I am trying to load them and release accordingly. That works better for me since my game is about hitting feel shots where I add a little or take off a little nearly every shot.

For what it's worth, I like the KBS tours far better than the PX's.
