TA Milled line

what happened

I bought a TA Milled 2 here last year, mostly because I had a very curious desire to own a long neck. Originally, I was after a tei3 np2, but I just didn't have the money at the time to get one, and when this showed up on the BST, I fell in love. It was milled from carbon steel, face milling and was advertised as super soft. It came a day before my company golf outing, and went with me for the event. From that point on it never left the bag, and has survived 3 attempted "assasinations", including the latest one from a ghost...

After so much good karma with this stick, I was wondering: why doesn't the TA Milled line get more love, what happened to the line that they decided to get away from it and why isn't there more info available on them? Aside from the odd BST ad or eBay listing, you never see anything ever pop up on the internet about em. I was hoping maybe someone could provide info on the entire line, and possibly a catalog, as well as who designed them. I suspect it was a Ken Giannini line, but can't be certain. I'd also love to know the time period in which these guys were produced, and why they chose to design a long neck putter, as they aren't exactly the most in demand style anymore (unfortunately).

Any info would be awesome, I'm craving knowledge. :)

I'm with you man...I only collect longnecks, and the Cleveland TA2 is one of the best putters in my collection (even though it only ran me $30 off Ebay). In my opinion, the TA line had some of the nicest putters Cleveland ever produced, but you're right in that it never gets any cred. The awesome black finish, 100% milled carbon steel, soft feel, and weight are all really nice. That's a pretty sick idea. I also wonder what kind of grip came with it stock. I just roll with a trust pingman silver. So used to that grip that it's hard for me to switch, though I'd love to find a method style grip to try if I could get it in the same size.

This is mine. Unfortunately, it shows a bit of wear. I want to get it refinished in a triple black or something similar. There was a 009 post on here a couple of weeks back with this very rich and dynamic deep black that I absolutely fell in love with. It'd be perfect for her, but I'm going to wait until the offseason, can't have her out of the bag for too long. ;)

They might have had a Lamkin Crossline grip...not positive though. I don't know if Piretti does refinishing, but their "midnight black" finish looks very similar to the TA finish. It could be worth contacting them: [b][i]PirettiGolf.com[/i][/b]

I don't know if that's just something Scotty offers or if you can get it elsewhere, but I love it.

Byron Morgan Makes the Dh11 that has the same no cavity look and so does the scotty cameron aop 33/350 asian spec.

pretty much minty for $30.

This must be a joke. Take that $30 and add 2 more zeros and you'll be getting close... I showed my dad some of these on eBay and he got instantly mad at their price, then went into denial that these sales weren't legitimate. I assured him of quite the opposite. Carry on...
