Club building, fitting schools?

Hello and I need some help. I am 51 years old forced out of my job due to injury and I am forced to change career. I decided that I want to work in golf because that's what I like to do for fun. I am thinking of going to club fitting and repair school and hope to find a job in the Palm Beach Florida area. My thinking after looking at the schools is going with the Mitchell Golf Equipment school. I looked at Golfsmith and others my thinking is Mitchell would provide me with a better chance of getting work at other locations besides a Golfsmith store. I am looking for feedback from others that have maybe been in the same position. I have looked and there are no jobs offered now in my area, so that should be a clue but I am thinking long term.

I guess I am wondering what experience people have had with the different schools. The Mitchell has the best schedule since costly travel is involved.

Do a search on this forum. I, as well as some others, have been up to Mitchell for the school. We have all written some reviews at one point or another on here.

I recently completed the Mitchell 3 day club repair and assembly class and couldn't be happier. If you are going into the golf industry full time you may want to think about their 6 day combined repair/assembly and advanced fitting course. Since I didn't have any previous experience I decided to breakup the training into 2 modules. I don't think you will find better training anywhere and the Mitchell name is universally respected, so I have to think it will help you gain future employment. I would recommend you reach out to Larry Baldridge at Mitchell and discuss your background and goals. He will be able to recommend the best approach for you.

Thanks I was planning on the six day school, due to the cost of travel and lodging the only way I can do this is all at once.

I have never been to attend one of the schools but from what I have heard the Mitchell School is the best . The others GS, Golfworks , are thinly veiled sales pitches on using there components and equipment. The Mitchell I believe is also PGA Accredited.

Everyone is going to pitch their own equipment, that's just the nature of the business.
