Old Spalding Specs

Anyone know what the specs of this model of Spalding Executive irons would have been? Unlike most other sets I have seen these have the shaft going into the hosel (.370) rather than shaft over hosel. I reshafted them for a friend and he loves them. With the stock Spalding shaft they were 38" 5 iron and he would like to know the ofts and lie. No access to a gauge or even Loft/lie machine.

The first set of clubs I ever bought. They were a Christmas present to myself in 1993. They were a full set of irons 3-PW and three metal woods. All for less than a $100!
I thought I was gonna play the best golf ever with those clubs. Since I was a beginner, I didnt have a grooved and repetitive swing. At the time I didn't know that. I blamed the clubs. I considered them junk, so I gave them away.
I would love to hit them now.

These are not bad looking at all. I picked up a couple at the local thrift, not to play, but because of the heads. Using them in little sideline business I have going.

I actually like the look of the club heads and he loves them.

I have the 1992 Spalding Catalog in which these were pictured, but unfortunately there are no specs listed.

1992 was the only year this exact model was available. The following year it changed to the Executive EZ, with a clubhead that was shaped the same as the 92s but the raised lettering in the back had been replaced with the more conventional stamped markings.

I've hit the EZs, and it is an excellent head. A bit lower profile than most GI clubs of that era, and a very nice sole as well.

Lower profile heads but not near as low profile as the 440's

the word was KINDA LOOK LIKE

Ah yea the Browning 440s. Didn't Titlest have a somewhat similar design with a foam filled head.

I think you're thinking of the Titleist B33, but it wasn't nearly as shallow as the Browning 440.

Browning made a club called the 440 Plus that was of more conventional depth, and I believe it was foam filled, so that may be the two you're comparing.
