TM Tour Preferred CB vs Rocketbladez Tour

Anyone hit them both and if so how would you compare them? I believe the same shaft in the two and the lofts are a little stronger in the CB's.

Looking for things like forgiveness and feel. I am trying to decide if i want to stay with a club like this or go back to something like the xhotpro 2 or G25's.

Might be a lot more at play than this in your decision making if you are debating TP CB's vs G25's.

With those being the options you can't decide between, I think some of the advice I have seen stated around the forums might be in order: Play the most forgiving irons you can stand to look at.

Possibly seems like you are debating looks/desire vs forgiveness and function. Would you rather have your bag look pretty outside the pro shop, or would you rather have good looking shots on the course. I asked myself that question when looking at SpeedBlades or TP CB's; and when I did I felt silly. I need the forgiveness, so went with the GI clubs.

Best of luck, lots of great options out there.. I would almost look at the JPX EZ Forged, too. They may be a great "best of both worlds" option; forged, great technology for forgiveness and distance, very nice looking finish, etc.

I currently play the rocketbladez tours and like them but i miss the distance i got with the gi clubs i played in the past. I am not a bad ball striker and play to a 5 hcp so it is not about the looks. For some reason i get in my head the number of the bottom of the club and make inconsistent swings with certain clubs. I always feel more confident hitting a 7 iron 170-175 over hitting the 6 in same distance. That is why i was looking at the CB's as they are lofted in between the Tours and the gi clubs.

I have owned both and still have the CB's. For me the CB's are a much better fit and at least 1/2 a club longer than the tours. I find the CB's for forgiving and for me a much better looking club, think Taylormade have nailed this range. I have put steelfibers in mine and now they are beasts, gained nearly 1 club distance, i had the nippon pro's in them but owing to age i thought i would go for something that is kinder to my body.

[/quote] Very Interested in this combo for the same reason's. 55, single digit, looking for forgiveness in playability but in feel too. Did you go with the i95 steelfibers. I have heard that they play a little stiff to flex. would you concur?

I went i85 regular, they do play a little stiff to flex, so i lengthened them by 1/2 inch to compensate, and so far fantastic combination.

I was guessing they would be about a half of club longer just based off the lofts. I am headed to the golf shop Saturday AM to get fitted so we shall see what i end up with.
