How do you line up your golf ball?

Don't bother with it off the tee, it's not like the original ProV where seaming it could get some decent extra distance

I use one of those machines that spins the ball so you can mark the balance "equator" of the ball. Helps with sidespin off the tee, and helps with lining up the putt, along with the ball rolling "pure". You would be surprised how a ball will jump and bounce in that little cage till it gets spinning fast enough to "sit" on the perch while it spinning. I mark the ball, then I stop it, and spin it again to see if it goes back to the same spot that I marked. In theory the ball is supposed to be balanced on this line, which I use in the tee box, and on the green, AFTER I have my line to the cup, then I place my ball 'line' in that direction. My putt does not hinge on that line on the ball, as I use a spot on the green to get my ball to the cup. The balance line is supposed to make the ball roll "truer", and not to run off your line to the cup. Don't see a whole lot of balls that I find with these marks, so maybe I'm the only one that uses that little gadget. Doesn't take a lot of time to do this.

I place the ball opposite the sidestamp, seam towards my target line. Not because I 'seam" it, but because this gives me just white dimples to look at. I'm ADHD and the less going on, the better.

Longer putts I prefer all white. Shorter putts (about 15ft in) I'll line it up directly with the hole regardless of break. That assures me I'm able to play the break I'm reading as opposed to some imaginary line. Off the tee I don't use it but occasionally will on par 3s.

I've got astigmatism. Too many straight lines mess with my head, so I eliminate them as much as possible.
I just try to visualize the line in my minds eye. It's far less confusing that way.

On the green I draw a line over the ProV arrow with a red sharpie. I then setup that line so it is perpendicular to my target line I want to roll the putt on. From there my only thought is to square the putter face into that line at the speed I want the ball to be rolling.

Teebox - Nothing but dimples
Green - I use a line on the side logo so I see nothing but the line.

Guess it really does not matter though because half the time I am looking at the logo on approach / chip shots based on how the ball lands.

The 'lining up/arrow' line on a many golf balls is there for a reason - if i didn't use it God only knows where it would go.

[/quote]I tried going all dimples on the green and constantly found myself trying to form a line from the dimples, couldn't do it, obviously different things work for different people

Never lined up a ball in any way, except when I was younger. I would tee it up with the brand name showing, so I could read it. Supposed to help keep eye on ball.

I very simply use a line on the green over the Pro V1x arrow and then use the titleist script off the tee ill post a pic later
