What injuries exactly...? Haven't had any in 20 years so far? And where/what in my swing would cause them??

There is no perfect swing... so in a sense your swing is always going to be a broken wheel. You can most certainly make your swing more efficient and easier to repeat BUT at the same time you need to make your practice harder and more like a game so at anytime, with any swing you're ready to do your best.

yes, i'm going to be editing my practice routine...thank you for your recommendations -- will absolutely make use of it. the reason i've posted these videos here is not for mental coaching -- since this is the hogan swing thread.

i have a coach i'm working with on the mental aspect of the game, and i practice it often.

was just looking for some help/advice for the SWING in this thread...

i appreciate all the help so far from hogan, mikah, etc.; seriously, thank you!

Just out of interests sake... how do you practice your irons?
...how do you mean?
Sorry, should have been more clear. You say you need to improve your iron shots to lower your scores... so how are you currently practicing your iron shots to lower your scores? Are you just trying to improve your golf swing to hopefully do that or are you practicing in a specific way e.g. replicating course conditions and shots you have not done well at in the past?
i'm practicing a consistent swing, alignment etc to shoot to a particular target of a certain distance (this is with all clubs).

i've lost shots in each round due to a lack of consistency in my golf swing due to getting disconnected and loose at the top (see original vids) and missing my target. yes, i have a good short game and my putting is good...but putting pressure on both of those things sometimes 5-6 times a round is tough. i want more GIRs and i would like my GIRs to be closer to the hole to afford more birdies and pars.

did i answer your question right?

don't know what exactly you were trying to figure out/tie into...
Here's something to think about. Hitting 13/18 greens in regulation consistently (or on average) would put you inside the top 100 on the PGA tour in GIR %. If your putting and chipping are both good, and your are "sometimes" having to get up and down 5-6 times a round, then I'm assuming you usually average more than 13-14 GIR's, in which case I'd argue you don't have a consistency problem you have a proximity problem.
my last 20 rounds on NG360 -- 59.8% of greens; in the last 5 - 65% of greens. averaged 1.7 putts per over the last 20, also 1.7 over the last 5 (like i said i'm pretty consistent)...

i agree with you. i want to be closer to the hole, more often.

I see a few things from the face on angle that could lead to trouble. Along with your OTT, you're casting the club which is always hard on the wrists, again depending on how fast you swing. Also, you have a reverse pivot - the top of your spine wonders towards the target as you lift the club at the end of your back swing. That puts a ton of pressure on your lower back as you swing through impact. These are all things that can be worked on but the first step is becoming aware of them.

i'll have to disagree with this. i've slowed it down...to say i'm casting isn't correct. i'm releasing at the ball, not through the ball and i'm sorry but my wrists, elbows and lower back have never hurt...i'm 30. been playing since i was 6. as for the reverse pivot, i don't agree with that either. if i'm doing anything my spine is straighter to vertical...but not leaning towards the target...

while i'm aware of your words and thoughts, i'll have to disagree with you.

No worries. Apparently Hogan had a lot of books on the mind in his library. Maybe that had something to do with his great swing. Pretty amazing what he achieved without any video etc. The guy must have been a genius.
