Recommend Courses

I am headed to Bonita Springs this Sat. for 2 weeks which is in between Ft. Myers and Naples. Please recommend some courses for me and if any wrx'er is free to play let me know. Thanks.

Your going to a great place. I've been there about 15 to 20 times. Here is where I'd recommened you playing.

Miromar Lakes - Not 100 percent sure they still let public play, but its really good.

Raptor Bay , this is like a resort course (a Ray Floyd design), that super fun to play. A great layout in top shape.

Lely's Flamingo Island in Southern Naples (probably a 25 min drive from where you are). They have 2 good public courses, Mustang and Flamingo Island.

The Rookery near Marco Island. I think they do allow public on most days. This is also a good course.

Lots of great courses, but unfortunately many are private. I'm not familiar with courses north of Bonita Springs (we have a condo in North Naples), but if you can get on through friends or reciprocals, Bonita Bay Club, Grey Oaks, Mediterra, and Twin Eagles all have more than one course and they're all fun to play. You may want to try Imperial Estates, also (near 41 and Wiggins Pass) - not quite the condition/course of the others, but I thought it was tough, but fair (Women play qualifiers there). Raptor Bay is tough from the tips -- it seemed as if there was water on every hole, so if you're not straight, take lots of balls (kind of pricey, also, even for the area, unless you play in the offpeak season.

There are other fine courses that are semi-private (Tiburon) you may want to try. I would not waste my time again on Highland Woods.

Try a search, I came back from Naples a few weeks ago. My favorite this trip was Hammock Bay. Except for the egg-y smell on the range, it was great.

Here is another one, which I have not played. Its only about 2 years old.

If I were to go back down to Naples, I'd make a B Line here. Its open to the public.

Naples Rocks, if you like Burgers, check out Cheeburger,Cheeburger. Its a 50s style Burger place that makes huge burgers. There is one on Davis Blvd and one on Rte 41. (Great breakfasts too).

BTW- If you like the Beach, check out Vanderbilt beach located in that area. The Landmark to look for would be the Ritz Carlton hotel which is on Vanderbilt beach. Its a great beach. You should also check out Sanabel Island when your down there too. Enjoy.
