Pics of My 2009 Black Ogio Nexos.........Oh and some new Rocket Tours Too!!!

I always like looking at the pic's of various things on this site and have found them very helpful as often times the manufacturers photos leave a lot to be desired. So, to that end I thought I would share........

 

I just got my 2009 black w/ silver trim and piping Ogio Nexos this week. The Nexos was the bag I really wanted when they came out in the Spring and I was dissapointed when they got pulled back off the market so quickly. I don't think I've ever seen pics of the all black one, except those on the Ogio site which aren't very good. The bag was definitely worth the wait and it was exactly what I was looking for. I've always liked Ogio bags but never cared much for the Woode top. The Wedgie top on the Nexos is perfect - the putter well will fit a Cameron with the headcover on and the top config. gives a lot of options. The fabric used on the Nexos is really nice and is something that doesn't show up very well in the pics. By my count there are 4 different fabrics used on the bag and all of them have a nice substantial feel to them. The fabric is one of the first things I notice about a bag. The Nexos is loaded with every feature Ogio makes almost and a couple new ones; a cigar case with designated pouch and a divot tool. I've had it out for one round now on my speed cart and it fits great and doesn't twist without using the Torque Strap.

 

The Rocket Tours are the new Red Argyle for my driver, Black/Red Tassel for my 3 wood and victory stripes for my 5 wood and hybrid. They're all very nice and as noted by others, much higher quality than the originals.

How stable is the bag?

The bag is more stable now with the new ArcLite stand system but it will still wobble a little bit at the top where the legs connect to the bag. With the old Ogios, the bag could topple over if on a hill or the wind was high, this one doesn't feel like it would do that.....but it will still wobble a bit.

How would you compare your hoofer vantage to this offering from Ogio?

 

Is there a big difference in weight. I have the Ogio Edge and wanted something a little lighter maybe.

 

Any pics of the new top?

The Nexos is about the same weight as the Edge. I had an Edge last year. Way too heavy to carry regularly for me. The Vantage is quite a bit lighter, not sure the exact weight difference, probably a couple pounds though. I use my Vantage when I carry and the Nexos will be my bag for the push cart. I'll post up some pics of the top over the weekend.

that thing is sick!! very very nice! i would have gotten the same one but went with a grom because I walk. But dang if those pics don't have me rethinkin my choice! LOL let us know how it turns out after a couple rounds!

No, Ogio just released a new version of the Edge - I kind of like the old one a little bit better though :)

I'll get some top pics up tomorrow for everyone. One thing I like about the Nexos is it's very similar in a lot of ways to last years Ogio bags. I guess that's because it was supposed to be out late last year. This year Ogio seems to be getting kind of weird with some of the bags in that they're putting plastic on them now, which is what is around the zipperless ball pocket on the Edge. Not sure if that's quite my thing. The Nexos is very much like a refined Edge from last year and with the new top it's great.

I got the old Ogio Edge 2008 in Black/Juice orange color for free - Ogio Scandinavia gave it to me, because I had some trouble with the old Ogio SS Flight Shling bag (loved so much about the Shling system, just not the durability). Love the Ogio Edge Black Juice - and have matching grips and headcovers (mostly red/orange/white and black colors)

 

With that new design, I might consider getting the Ogio Nexos next year - but will probably get the Nexos in Black/Gold, a pretty good color combo in my view :)

 

I weights a bit more than the Edge - and I never driver, always walk, so hope I can cope with the extra weight. It sure looks sturdy build :good:

Here's a few pic's of the Wedgie top on my Nexos. It's a pretty versatile design - I prefer the "woods" across the top but you could easily put them down one side as in the Woode system. The first pic is next to my Hoofer Vantage just for comparison. Counting my PW I play 4 wedges and the bottom split compartment works well with that set up.
