Any reputable Hole In One Insurance Co?

I am hosting a golf outing and wanted to offer Hole In One prize. I want to make sure I find a reputable Hole In One Insurance Company that will pay out in the event someone actually makes a hole in one.

I used US Hole In One for a few years for an outing I ran. Not by choice, just that it was the one my predecessors had chosen. I had no problems with them, but admittedly we never had anyone get a hole in one to test it out.

I spoke to someone at US Hole In One and they told me that they use North American Speacialy Insurnace Conpmay as underwriters. I looked that up and North American Speacily Insurance Compny is no longer in business. So, I emailed US Hole in One with the link and haven't heard back as of yet but its' only been one day.

I agree, I'm sure everyone would have positive experience till someone actually makes a hole in one.

I know Hole in WON didn't pay out. Read an article on Fox News about them.

We do this for our mens league on the weeks of Majors. We had a guy get the $5k prize with a hole in one two years ago and he was paid. I can ask which company we use.

The biggest thing to remember to get the pay out is to follow all of the rules of the company. Most will stipulate a certain minimum yardage and must be witnessed by a course employee. The cost of the insurance can vary by distance to pin as well.

Hole In One USA claims to be written on Zurich paper. http://hiousa.com/hole-in-one-insurance/

Get a copy of their policy, follow all of the requirements to create an "insurable event" and make sure to not run afoul of any exclusions.

Insurance contracts from admitted insurance carriers do a really good job of performing when insureds have proper understandings of what is and is not covered by the contract.

95% of bad experiences with insurance are caused by insureds' believing the insurance should do something that's different than what the contact actually knows to respond to.

Yes, please find out which company if you can. Thank you.

Update: I did not get a call or email back from US Hole In One yet but I did do further digging and found that North American Specially Insurance Company is under Swiss Re Company. Swiss Re is solid company and I did speak VP in charge of US and he did assure me that they do underwrite for US Hole In One and they are reputable company. I also found North American listed with Bloomberg as being in business and also a solid company.

Hey Norboo - I posted in your other thread but wanted to drop a shout out in here too for Advantage HIO.

I do a lot of events, really random/non-traditional requests, and they have been great to work with. I had a winner last year and they were super easy/flexible when it came to paying out the prize. They also offer interesting side packages to enhance the HIO competition.

I used a different company up until beginning of last year and it's been night and day (better) since we switched - great communication, very clear process, on the lower end of the price scale compared to competitors, etc.

Feel free to PM me for a contact or more info on my experience with them. I'm not affiliated with them at all, just an extremely satisfied customer.
