Perceived stiffness of DG x100 vs DG AMT x100 vs DG 120 x100

Long time DG user here.

105mph driver SS, smooth transition, steep angle, digger, high spin, high launch guy.

I'm about to order a new set of clubs and will order DG x100 of some sort. I've always been between s400 and x100, and last six golf sets have been x100 SSx1 or s400 HSx1. Feel wise s400 HSx1 is the best, but I find x100 SSx1 to be superior in wind. Also tried x100 SSx2 in one set, and feel was outstanding, but it wasn't a low/low shaft anymore. With x100 SSx1I do see a smudge higher launch compared to x100 straight in, but still it's under control. And for my swing tempo SSx1 feels way better.

But, as many other guys I'm interested to have lower weights in my shafts. When I heard about DG 120 I was thrilled, but the feedback from people using it is very confusing.

So what is your experience guys? I've read some statements here in the forum especially around DG 120 that people find them to play stiff to flex? At least two different people here in the forum have tried DG 120 x100 SSx1 in their golf sets and both stated that they played clearly(!) stiffer than normal DG x100 SSx1. This sounds so strange for me. Anyone else can confirm this perception?

Also, what about normal DG AMT x100 - how stiff do they play to the normal DG x100? I know SSx1 for AMT will make a huge difference in weight in the lower irons, but I'm mostly interested in how people perceive the stiffness of AMT x100 vs the normal DG x100?

I demo"d the x100 AMTs as well DG gold and black in their AMT versions too. Imo only the X100 held up ..the others were just kind of dead and dull feeling. X100 AMT could at least load and get some kind of zip on it. Jmho

I'm actually in the process of making the switch from the DG X100 to the DG 120 X100. I demo'd the DG 120's yesterday and immediately fell in love; I wasn't even looking for new shafts but, as an equipment lover, I decided to try them out at my club. For me, I feel they play the same stiffness as the regular X100 (my shafts now are not tipped and neither were the demo shafts), they are just exponentially easier to hit due to the, I'm guessing, lower weight.

Either way, it felt to me that they played to a similar stiffness but were just much easier to hit.

You dont tell how your long irons works now, but since you ask about AMT and DG 120, there might be a option if you consider to go 3/8" between clubs. Then we can mix Standard DG X100 shafts, and partly tip trim so we get a Flighted set up who is both a few grams down on shaft weight in the long end (due to both Soft stepping and going 3/8") but also a bit easier to launch than standard. The set ends slightly Ascending weight, but only about 6-7 grams from shortest to longest or a little less than 1 grams lighter shaft pr club longer. (if we can sort them like this). You most likely only need 2 shafts extra to rebuild what you got to make a set like this. Flex would be like SS1 for the #6 iron, then progressively stronger into the short, and softer into the long end. The difference to flex, weight and tip lengths makes them slightly Flighted vs standard.

I don't know that they felt stiffer to me, but they did feel much smoother.

I tried them out them out briefly and thought they played stiffer. They are probably equal stiffness but once you take the 10 grams away they lack heft and become a bit boardy.. I didnt like the feel at all
