NXT Tour Ball

How does this ball perform in distance, spin and around the greens? I hear so many golfers using NXT Tour balls but have not heard much detailed reviews of this ball. I have been playing the Bridgestone E6 as it flys so straight and low spin off the driver but it does not seem to stop or check up on the green on approach shots or chips/pitches. I have also read that the NXT Tour does not play too much different from the ProV1 and I find that hard to believe when the ProV has a urethane cover it has to play different from the NXT Tour.

I personally don't see the need to pay the extra 10-15 bucks more a dozen. The NXT tour is an awesome ball.

I use to love the NXT tours. I played them all throughout the 2006 season and for a good portion of 2007. On a whim, I bought some Bridgestone E6's and never looked back. The E6 is a much better ball, in my opinion. I find they check up better for me than the NXT Tours ever have, plus they're much longer.

 

The new HX Hot Bite ball looks interesting, I might give those a try. If they have the distance of the HX Hot with some stopping power, they could be a great ball.

 

I also agree about not paying $45/dozen. I just picked up some of last year's TP Reds at $30/dozen. Great price for a great ball. Personally, if you're looking in the $25-30/dozen ball range, you may as well get premium balls from last year. You can find last year's Nike Ones for a pretty descent price too.

I just got a box of the Top Flight Gamers and after one trip out with them I have to say they are very good so far. I played the e6 last year and have not lost any distance with the Gamer. Spin seems to be good enough to me. It will stop on full shots and only bounce a time or two on pitches and chips. I would have to say it lives up to its name! :man_in_love:

I played nxt tours all last year and they are a good ball. Great thing about them is you can get mint used ( not refinished ) for around $9/dzn with a coupon and free shipping from lostgolfballs or knetgolf. I got 10 dozen last year. I've been playing HX tours and tour 56's and I have been supprised how much I am enjoying the 56's around the greens. My short game has improved quite a bit since last year and I don't think I am going back to the nxt tour.

The NXT Tour is a good winter ball (although I am liking the Burner TP better right now), but I would not use it during the regular season (unless the course is sopping wet) as it does not have nearly as much feel nor does it stop nearly as fast as a Pro V or other premium ball.

I use the NXT tour a lot. Performs a lot like the Pro V1x, with a little less spin around the greens. I shot my best score of last year using an NXT Tour.

The problem I have is that the cheaper balls don't perform around the greens, NXT included. It has a little to do with modern courses where the greens are raised and require a more versatile short game. Every year I get sucked into the hype of how good and soft x ball is around the green and I try them. So I end up wasting my money and going back to premium balls. All the major brands are pretty good, so I look for the sales or last years model.

I would say that the NXT Tour performs like the first generation of the Pro V1. Maybe slightly less spin, but if I hit them both side by side, I'd swear they performed identically.

Couldn't disagree more...I hated the Bridgetone mid-range offerings, thought I got better distance with the Nike Ignites and Callaway Hots with no better greenside control. At the end of last year, I tried the new NXT Tours and found them every bit as long as my preferred balls with even better control. An example: last week I hit two greens from about 200 yards with a four iron, and in both cases, the ball spun back. Admittedly, the greens were soft, but this was almost sick. :man_in_love:
