Ok the Wall O Water has passed Kentucky and I get to play 27 holes tomorrow. It will be my first time with the new Graphite Design MT6 stiff. Great looking shaft with this head. Can't wait to see if it performs. I did add about 15 grams of lead tape to the bottom. Club now weighs 309. The quadra fire deserves more time with the lead tape added as well. The head was too light at 187. Had to get more weight there

i just ordered a special wrench and weight kit that is compatible with the Glorie head weight. One the kit comes I wll report on specifics and results.

The VELOX experiment didnt work well on the GLOIRE, but was fantastic on the SLDR. The MT 5 has found a home in the GLOIRE.

Outside of the (sorry, but) awful paintjob--what is this head bringing to the table? To each his own on the looks of the driver, but I feel TM knows there is a niche market for overpriced "collectible" clubs, and is happy to cater to it. I'd ne happy to hear there's been some legit numbers posted on this thing, but I'm gonna say up front that I doubt it.

4 pages and no one has this driver dialed in yet? Very odd considering the expertise that many of you have. Is it possible that this driver just isn't a good fit for the better player?

Okay for those who are on the fence about this driver, and a few shots from the doubters. First I understand and I have had the same feeling about the high priced JDM gear. I tried to find a shaft for this head because it had such a great feel and stupid forgiveness. At first I thought it would produce bomber distance. After 3 shaft attempts it just did not happen for me. I was losing ground even on my best swings. It was super hard for me to dump this one. Fairway finder with butter soft face. I wanted to keep it but there was no way I could stand being 20 yards behind my regular playing group. I stopped reporting because it was very disappointing to be so excited and hopeful to only realize that I could not make it work for my swing. I believe that this club is geared towards a different type of golfer. Truly the only JDM club that delivered the distance goods was the Jbeam 435. Not super forgiving and I had days where it got me into a lot of trouble. The fragile Crazy shaft snapped and it was over. If you want a super forgiving/ butter face then this is the one. I just could not give up the distance. The US Sldr was longer by 15 to 25 yards. Terrible feel away from center but low launch and long. I know I touted this club greatly but I was so sure the right shaft would do it. Next time I wait many months before posting. I did get all my money back so it was worth a shot.

It is definitely not a club designed for the North American market. Its target for Japanese average golfers, senior golfers and women golfers. However it does have the kabuki shaft upgrade but with the club still has the weight problem, it would be an issue with the strong players. I guess thats the reason for being the #1 driver on the JLPGA tour and not the JPGA.

I swing around 96-98, a 100mph when I really go after it.

I have two different shafts that I play in it.

I love this driver. It is as long as anything I've played and that includes the new US and JDM driver releases.
It's been in my bag now for about 3 months which is a long time for me. Still not looking to replace. I've never
been as consistent and long as I am with this driver. Might be the first club I can say has helped bring my
handicap down a stroke or two because I'm always in the fairway. Mis hits still seem to end up on the short
grass or close enough I'm not punished.

Weight was an issue and I would not recommend this to anyone who swings above 100mph.

I have over 16 grams of lead tape on it. FOR ME the SLDR didn't come close performance wise.

Haha, I have never seen the application of lead tape like this. I guess you couldn't see that at address ...maybe.
[/quote]

No, you can't see it.

In fact when I show it to people it takes them a minute before they realize it isn't "stock".

I added 13 grams of weight using a special fixed weight kit and the special removal tool. I had to use a butune torch to loosen up the old weight but it just took about 10 seconds of heat and it then was no different from replacing a standard weight. I have the head weight up to 202 grams now, which is my prefered head weight for most drivers. Before replacing the weight the GD MT 5 worked the best. After the weight change the MATRIX VELOX has the best upside as initially the counterweight design didnt work well with the light Gloire head. Now that the head weight has been added the counter weight shaft design of the VELOX comes into play and I have hit my longest drives of the season with this combo.

One of the reason I had a hard time dialing it in is because of the lighter head weight and so the face is closed so it took some adjustments... is it dialed in for me? Not yet, but it's getting close. My last Gloire I had was money...... 9.5 head with a B. Asha shaft which I am considering putting back in play....

Hello Driverhead I just received my Gloir head.
Do you weight the head including the shaft sleeve ?
My Gloire head is 190.5 gram with the sleeve 196 gram so I added 6 gram to come to 202 gram total head weight.
What is the special weighting kit and tool you used and where can I buy it?

Thanks
