My first Byron Morgan

I came up with this great idea that I would get a custom putter made for my 30th birthday. So, I've been working with Dave for the last few days on ordering my first putter from Byron, and it's pretty much consumed me. I've worked out most of the details, but I'm struggling with paint fill colors. I have looked at so many different Byron putters recently, and I don't really want to replicate anyone else's paint scheme.

I'm ordering a DH89 SS with a blue oil high polished finish. It is going to have Byron's name and the HB stamp on the face, California Flatsticks and the coyote stamp (may change this to a tuna) in the cavity, and the model and exact weight on the bumpers. I liked the tuna milled head cover and thought about incorporating the bright colors out of head cover onto the putter. But I'm torn as to whether or not I want to have a bunch of different colors on this putter.

I was thinking of using blue, either a royal or bright, as my base color and accenting it with the lime green and bright orange in the head cover. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you are going with Lime Green and Bright Orange, I would suggest the Sky Blue. It's bright enough to not get lost among the other colors, but not overpowering.

Personally, I think Sky Blue, Lime Green and White would look really good... then again, I'm not a very big fan of orange.

I thought about leaving the orange out. Just not sure how I'll like the lime and light blue together. Maybe more of an aqua instead of lime and a deeper blue would work.

By the way, your putter is a big reason why I chose the style and finish I'm doing and one of the main putters I was referencing when I said I didn't want to copy the paint finish. That thing is incredible!

Thanks... I'm glad you like it!

Honestly, there has been so many color combos done that you will probably be copying someone anyway. There is only so much you can do when it comes to paint fill. Don't worry about all that and just get what you want.

If you are looking at my 89, the darker blue paint color is the "Sky Blue" that I was talking about. It is not a light shade of blue in the least. I see it as more of a bright, medium blue... and I think it would look great next to lime green. Again... just my opinion.
