New r7 425 tp having trouble getting rid of it

what should i do?

I bought a r7 425 tp last year the head came off the shaft and taylormade sent me a new one, new weight kit new headcover its brand new. heres the problem i didnt really like the driver it did not let me get away with anything short of a great swing with great tempo anything less was crap. ok so i here i am with a brand new driver that no golf store wants and are selling for 200 bucks on ebay(i paid 799 last summer) i would take a loss but i want a burner TP and some project x shafts...anyone got any tips or advice on helping me get what i want?

I hate to tell you this but unless you pull the wool over someones eyes you are not going to get more than $200 for that club, I'm not trying to be rude, or rain on your post, that's just the way it is, E-bay is a oerfect example of supply and demand, there are allot of TM drivers out there, and they just don't come close to what you may have paid retail a year ago. Sorry man, then only I could suggest is finding a plcae that may take your 425 on trade for a new burner, and maybe give you $150-$200 for it.

Donate it to the First Tee and write it off on taxes? That's the problem that TM placed on the consumer by throwing out a new new new new club every couple months. Before, the TP's held their value in the 510, 540, 580 and even the orignal R7 TP. Now the used market is saturated with TP models and the 425 and 460 TP's aren't worth the head cover and weight kits that come with them.

 

Sorry! I agree that you might find someone to trade with you plus some cash to get what you want.

i bet you'd get $225, maybe more if you're pretty savvy.

 

you could even sell club, weight kit, and headcover individually also.

The only thing I can think of is what the post above stated....sell everything seperately.

 

You can probably get $200 for the head, $60 for the shaft, $35 for the headcover, and normally $100 for the weightkid. That's a little under $400 for everything which is much better than what you would get selling it as a whole. I think it's worth a shot if you want to get the most for your what you are trying to sell...JAT

TYPICAL Taylor Made...they bring out new product seems like every month and convince everyone they NEED it!!! Flood the market with old dated equipment at the sporting goods level. It dilutes the value!!

 

Take the loss and move on...as long as you are in love with their equipment you will always get the shaft!!!
