Nickent 3DX Pro

Any info?

I've come across a Nickent 3dx Pro hybrid, 2+ with a VS proto 80-X. I believe the loft is about 15.5* but i can't find any info on the club. I've done the google search and forum searches with no luck. Nickent doesn't even mention it anywhere on the site. Does anyone have any info to share? Thanks, Joe

3DX Pro FW for PGA TOUR

It may seem strange that the company that helped make the hybrid golf club the hottest category in golf is turning its attention fairway woods, but that’s exactly what Nickent Golf is up in 2007.

“Before the hybrid explosion, Nickent was always known as a driver and fairway wood company,” said Nickent CEO Michael Lee. “John Hoeflich and I decided to get back to our roots and this time design fairway woods exclusively with the PGA Tour player in mind.”

The 3DX Pro FW is a “straight off the Tour van” product that will be available in limited quantities and that will be sold as a prototype for the serious golfer who wants to play a hot, low launch, low spin fairway wood. To be a widely praised fairway wood on the PGA Tour, the club must preserve the classic looks of a persimmon club of old while combining cutting-edge science that outperforms the giants of the industry. At the tail end of the 2006 PGA Tour, the 3DX Pro FW was put into play by multiple PGA Tour winners, and that popularity has carried over into 2007.

“This club was put into play by several PGA Tour players at the last couple of events on the PGA Tour and the buzz among players spread quickly,” said Lee. “In fact, many players said it was one of the finest looking fairway woods they have laid their eyes on. Then they hit it and immediately put it into play.”

Designer of the club, John Hoeflich, made sure the tour players would take notice of the new design with both good looks and one-of-a kind technology.

The COR of the face 3DX Pro FW is equal to the hottest driver faces on the market today. With a .082 COR, players will be crushing controlled shots off the tee on tighter holes where danger lurks.

Two Tungsten Polymer XW Inserts on the back of the club head work to make the club head more stable at impact and can be adjusted for directional control. This does make the head more forgiving and offers a crisp feel that has less vibration and a lively sweet spot. It is the first fairway wood to utilize Tungsten Polymer, which is the driving material behind the XW Insert technology Nickent now utilizes in irons, hybrids, and drivers.

The 3DX Pro FW has more weight built into the crown for a higher CG. This means that the club is for high swing speed, skilled players looking for lower spin and launch and to maximize distance off the tee and on longer holes.

I don't think the Pro is a new release, it seems to resemeble the original quite closely. Its been impossible to find any info

FYI, the new nickent fw wood 3dx pro will only be available in

3+ - 12*

3 - 14*

5 - 18*

instead of the 4 and 5 that was originally planned.

Okay, here are the pics as promised. Club felt okay at the range, had a nice flat ball flight but elevated rather easily. Can't say I hit it any farther than my Adams 18* Idea Pro though.

Nice, thanks for the pics. Have you tried calling Nickent? They were helpful when I called to ask about a warranty issue. My guess is maybe its a Pro Version of the hybrid like how theres a new 3DX Fairway Pro? Just a guess. Let us know if you contact Nickent and find anything out.

I would still wait to late april and get the retail 4dx hybrid. I got one since january for testing and it is super solid. Better than teh 3dx dc and the adams pro, in fact, it is better than any other hybrid in the market.
