Rules Question for a laugh

This is not a lie

This is not a lie its a true storey about a shot my friend hit two years ago and we still dont have a ruling on it:

He hit is tee shot down the center of the fairway, he had 200 yards left to the green, off a perfect lie. He's not a very good golfer but can some times hit unbelievable shots, this was one.

He tried to hit a long iron, he hit the ball on the bottom of the club and the ball shot straight up hit his hat and it rolled off it when he hit it again with his shaft, which knocked that ball straight down. He then got up after we both laughed for a good 5 minutes with our playing partner, since we were the only ones on the course it was no problem. And he tried to hit another shot which he then shanked into the tree's. He declared it a lost ball and hit another playing stoke and distance. He then topped it another 20 yards. He knocked the next one on the green and made a 20 foot putt.

So by our counts, not know the rules very well, he made a total of: 10
Can anyone who knows the rules really well tell me if this is right? I dont really care because it was a long time ago but its just such a funny storey, I hoped I could share some laughter with your guys. :fool:

That is a funny story. :fool: I make it a 12. If the ball hits you I think I'm right in saying it is a two stroke penalty.
