After having moved an hour south of my home in Manchester,CT i have found difficulty in finding a consistent grouo to play in.

 

if anyone is looking to round out their group, ir start a new one, please let me know.

 

not having a consistent group has almost driven me away from the game.

 

just a quick blurb about me, i live in Trumbull, will play anywhere, and i play to a 5. please let me know if you have room in the group

If I was still in my nomadic golfer days, I'd look you up, but I pretty much only get out on Sunday to our men's club. Sorry. Did you try posting something in CTGolfer.com?

ctgolfer has very few people looking, and those that are seem to only be interested in night league play.
i must say that its discouraging one person replied.
i guess no one is in my situation

Don't give up - I played as a single for about 3 years before I hooked up with this league. Met some interesting folks and of course, plenty of characters. Actually, I played three or four rounds with a few members of Tashua Knolls over the winter. Have you tried connecting through the club?

As for the few replies - I visit this site more in the offseason than in season. Just so much more to do. Someone might still look you up. IIRC, there are a few guys west of New Haven on the 95 corridor here.

Out of curiosity, where do you usually play?

I play mostly at Tashua, but have been playing more frequently at Oak Lane lately.
I understand what you mean about off season viewing of this site.

I guess i got spoiled when i went to the golf academy of Arizona and there was always a game to be had. In new England its a little more difficult to find a game

Call (or better yet, go to) a few courses, and find out about their leagues. Join one or two and you will find many, many like minded folks.

Another (probably more) viable option is to go out as a single (as many times as needed) and get hooked up with and interact for 4 hours with 1, 2 or 3 other LOCAL players.

I used to travel quite a bit and would make it a point to play the local tracks. I've met so many people who invited me to play with them again "next time" I was in town that I almost find it hard to believe people can't find a a game

Not to be coy, but probably the last place I'd look would be on the Internet. (not that it [s]won't[/s] can't work, but c'mon, this is an outdoor sport).

Agree with previous posters, try to join a Men's club at one of the courses in the area. Most in the Hartford area offer one to non-club membersz. Most men's clubs will do the work of getting you in a group, and you can hopefully meet some guys that you can play regularly going forward.

Wish I had seen this post earlier as I would have suggested you join the Monday night men's league that is currently ongoing at Oak Lane! My buddy and I are leading the thing and seem to be the only two guys under the age of 30. You're fortunate to get those ridiculously cheap resident rates at Tashua since that's a pretty nice track for the area.
