I have played very few of the top US courses, but living in Mass I always wanted to play The Country Club, Kittansett, and Eastward Ho!. Those have all been bagged. I have however played a whole bunch of the top courses in Scotland and Ireland. I guess The Old Course was the one I dreamed of most and it did not disappoint. We also stayed at the Old Course Hotel and ate breakfast for 4 days overlooking the road hole, so I got that going for me.

I was lucky enough to play both Kapalua Plantation and the courses at Bandon Dunes this summer, so that crossed off a couple near the top. I really don't consider private clubs like Augusta remotely possible, so they are not on the list. As great as Bandon was (and I would put it on your own list if its not already there) I dream of the Old Course, Ballybunion, Pebble, Sawgrass and Royal County Down
