he did not stop his swing....he swung past the ball and missed....otherwise called a whiff. but cuz it's tiger he will skate.

from what i remember reading something i dunno if it was the rule book but im pretty sure if u intentionally change the path of ur swing to miss the ball like he did on that shot it wouldnt count as a stroke. because u can see that he didnt have intent on really hitting the ball once the thing distracted him but im not sure if i remember that right.

Definitely was a bird....you could see it in the replays. It's Augusta CC behind the 13th tee, but it's a ways behind since Augusta National bought that piece of property for the 13th tee box. There is no gallery even close to that tee box. It was absolutely amazing to see him stop like that. Usually, it's in his back swing but this was nearly impact. At first I wondered if they were going to get him for taking the swing. Unbelievable!

NOW I understand why he made the bone head choice to hit a four iron into ray's creek, and hit it on the right of the pin instead of the left side(from players view)! It was a massive brain cramp caused by the extreme stopping power generated on stopping the tee shot. All oxygen stopped flowing to cerebral cortex, thereby causing superfragilstupidodumbazzness :friends:

I wondered the same thing. His clubhead clearly passed the ball. I thought that was a whif?

I'm wondering if some of the posters in here even watched the shot. First of all, it was clearly the shadow of the birds that flew past that made him stop halfway into his downswing. And after watching a replay, I find it hard to comprehend how he even stopped it. Gave me additional appreciation for the awesome power of this man's swing.

I really showed how strong he is in being able to stop his swing like that. Honestly, he is lucky he didn't hurt himself during that process.

I love how people just assume it is a stroke instead of knowing the rules of golf.

He didn't stop short of the ball but did pull out of the shot and stopped shortly past it. An amazing feat nonetheless.

Apparently the bird squaked as it past him and it was this that made him jump. If there was no gallery nearby he proably wasn't expecting any sounds at all.

He did hold his back and do a bit of extra stretching after the incident which is hardly surprising. Any of us mortals would probably have been laid up for a month.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
