Miura CB501 vs CB57 vs MB001

I have been playing CB501s for 5 years now and am considering getting a new set. How do the 57s and 001s compare? The 501s are notoriously unforgiving, especially the long irons. I am assuming the 57s are more forgiving--but how much? How do they compare in terms of launch/spin to the 501s?

I am hopefully going to get to hit them next week, but I won't be able to test them with my gamer shafts. I'm leaning toward doing 3-5 CB57 and 6-PW MB001. Thoughts?

I am surprised you liked the 501s I found the a little underwhelming

I loved the feel of the tournament blades but the leading edge could cut a steak and that doesn't work for me

The 001s are great irons I mean just awesome

I have not hit the 57s but I have hit the 1007s and I found the to be really solid irons but I did not see a big jump in forgiveness versus the 001s

I don't know your game or swing but I am a big fan of the 001s

I really do like the 501s, but based on what I've heard, the new line would definitely be an upgrade. My only complaint about the 501s is I sometimes struggle to elevate the long irons. I'm about a +4, 97mph 6 iron swing speed.

I haven't heard anyone with anything but good things to say about the 001s- tempted to just go with those 3-PW.

I have the 501s and a set of mizuno mp 4s. I've never hit the 001 so I can't say what that club is like, but I'm going to guess its about the same as my MP4. Going of that, I find the the 501st more forgiving on toe hits but both clubs need be struck well. As such, I don't know if moving to 001 would be any more forgiving. Ive hit the cb57 and found them just the same as the 501.

I played the 501's for 2+ years before switching to the cb 57's. They are noticeably more forging than the 501's imo, nothing too dramatic, but definitely noticeable.

I was gonna do the mb001's, but the 57's have the look, feel, and playability that I was looking for.

Like I've said said before, the 501's are some of the best feeling cb's out, but they offer no more forgiveness than a typical current blade offers.

The 57's have a shorter heel to toe, but wider sole with blunt leading edge. Slightly thicker topline, which adds that bit of reassurance from address.

Good to know. Thanks!

How would you say they compare in terms of launch/spin? Are you using the same shafts?

Completely different shafts. Had kbs tour in the 501's and have nippon super peening blue in the 57's.

The 57 I would say launch a little bit higher, but spin about the same.

The 5-7 in the 501's had a beautiful penetrating blade like flight that I absolutely adored, but really had to own my swing to consistently see those results.

The 57 is a bit more progressive, the 5-7 has a bit higher flight, and the 8-P seem to launch a tad but lower, but can get them on a high trajectory when needed.

I think you'll be buying on looks when it comes down to it. While the cavity in the 501's is flawless, the head shapes are a bit off-putting. The 57 and 001 both offer the best looks of any iron on the market in my overall opinion.

The 57's have a more hefty impact sensation as well compared to the 001's and 501's, but still offer as much feedback as a blade (Miura knows how to forge).

I could argue reasons why I would choose each of the 3, but prefer the 57 to anything. So 57 > 001> 501 is how'd I rate them. Really like the 001's though, thought long and hard about it, but after experiencing the 57's it was an easy decision.

I just got a hybrid set of mb001s and cb57s with kbs tour v stiff shafts. I had been playing mizuno mp4s. The leading edge of the pitching wedge is noticeably thinner than my mizunos. Miura , both blades and cbs, are a slightly firmer feel than the mp4s.

Feel is the perception of sound in correlation to the quality of the golf strike and certainly subjective. I haven't tested the mp4, but I've tested quite a bit the mp5, and I feel that the 57s feel softer in a more subtle and intrinsic facet. In other words the Miura are the proprietor of quality, and the difference in quality between the two products from an aesthetic and specification tolerance are discernibly noticeable.

The quality of feel; the feel of quality.

Not sure if this is a compliment or what.

Either way, I don't do fiction.

Just been fitted for mb001. Some of the shaft options weren’t available with a 001 head so I hit the cb501s during the fitting process.

Have to say that the 501s felt just as sublime as the 001. Both clubs felt better than any other club I have hit or owned. Phenomenal feel. I could easily game either but went with the 001 as I got tighter dispersion with the blades.

Just put the new MC 501 4- PW in the bag this last week and wow. Very impressed. Have C Taper x115 (1/4 short) and loved the ball flight and shot dispersion. The sole grind on these are great for my swing (sweeper). Top line is beautiful. Was taking little pellet divots and compressing the ball nicely. Love the new technology in them while still looking somewhat like a blade.
