Miami area courses

Just moved down to Miramar Fl for work. Any ideas on what the best courses and practice facilities are in the area?

I just moved to the Miami area and have it pretty well scoped out I think. I think Miramar is fairly close to Doral If you're looking for high end. Definitely the best practice area I've seen so far. The parking situation is a little annoying (valet only) but I usually bribe the attendant into not valeting and parking it near the front of the hotel. They also have an LED lighted driving range during the busy season, which is really cool at night. Nice short game area as well.

Broward County has a lot of great courses. I'd definitely sign up for the premier card which gives you access and discounted rates at 15-20 courses (maybe more now) in the Miami area. During the summer, it actually gives you free greens fees (just have to pay for cart fee). I think Country Club of Miami is probably the closest course to you, but I haven't played it. But Crandon Park, Miami Beach GC and Melreese CC are all on the list - all well worth playing - especially for free! They're all about $200 during peak times. The card is only $100-200 so pays for itself very quickly. I think Don Shula's is also on the list and that's not far.

If you're a fan of "There's Something About Mary" the all water driving range in that movie is called Aqua Golf and it's not far from you. It's not high quality, but a nice novelty. And it's lighted which is surprisingly hard to find in Miami. Diplomat and Turnberry Isle are also really nice (near Hollywood, FL) - worth checking out.
