I played enough golf this month that if I would have played the same number of rounds (14) at East Potomac ($32), I broke even with my membership. If I played al of them at Piedmont and didn't travel and pay cart fees at Mission Hills etc..., I would have come out way ahead.

Index falling from 11.4 to 9.9 at next revision. Won first round of the individual match play tournament on Saturday 5 & 4. Game is probably as solid as it's ever been right now, with the biggest gains in short game and putting.

I was thinking about just grabbing McD's on the other side of 95 before heading to the course. I'd like to get to the course so I have an hr to warm up and take my time, so I may be hard pressed for time if the service takes a while.

I've never ate there, but it is probably a good place to eat. Like JJ said...there is a McDonalds as soon as you exit 95.

IOW, the plan is to get to the Greek place around 7, but waking up schedule plus traffic could change plans in either direction by about 40 minutes.

What kind of scores do we think will win with the modified stableford scoring.

I've never been a big birdie maker, I've just stayed away from high numbers... So not sure this format will benefit me.

remember, we're (mostly) competing for pride. there are a few chodes on the line, but nothing outrageous. err on the side of a lower number, rather than an inflated cap. no one likes a cheater, intentional or not.

[/quote]If you made a par on every hole you didn't get a stroke, and a bogey every hole you did, you'd get 36 points. Par some of your stroke holes and you're looking good.

If anyone came in at 40+, that would be a pretty solid round.

45 might win it.

I'll be taking side bets for a buck a point or 50 cents a point with anyone who wants.

Also, this is for [b]eagle[/b] and others. . .if people are playing different tees, familiarize yourselves with how strokes are handled so you aren't weirded out on wednesday when a 12 might be playing an 8 even.

For each tee, course handicaps get calculated based on the slope like normal. Then, an additional adjustment is made based on the course rating. In this case, an additional 3 strokes (I think).

In this case, a 10 from the silver tees might be a 12. A 10 from the gold tees might be a 16. It can make a big difference.

crap. forgot about the tee differential until right now. really only matters for the AM round, but yes, please let me know what tees you'll be using. as well as your hcp INDEX if you haven't provided it yet. i'm gonna guess almost everyone plays the golds.

Gold package is the only way to go...oh wait...golf tees for me!

The Golds would be equal to the Whites on the South/East courses at Andrews

Also, the Blues at Lake Presidential


The Silver would be the West at Andrews

Just some comparison for some with out the slope factor

I've played from the Gold and Silver there. I will play whichever guys in my group are playing.

Also, if you have never played there before the yardage book is your friend. First time I played there I hit good shots only to find out they were in the junk, etc. There are blind shots & a lot of elevation changes on greens.
