Should we put this into producton?

This is Byron`s personal putter choice.. I like this better than the Bullseye and the Bettinardi... Tell us what you think,maybe we can make a run of this model.

I will find what the specs are and ask him about the dot. Should have some news today about the 006 MP coppers and the 007 MP 303 stainless.

I'm 99% sure that the heel dot for shaft alignment will be a non-starter. There are patent issues.

 

This is a great putter for those that like a blade. I rolled a few with the solid copper one in the foreground of the first picture that Steve posted -- it's got heft and a great solid feel.

Understood - I thought since the Red X and Seemore use them, but in different styles, there may be a way to get around this.

 

That said, the top line looks thin enough for the shaft to hide the heel portion for proper alignment

 

Don't you get the same effect by simply lining up the shaft centered between the front and back edges of the topline? Do you really need some kind of red dot or other feature to "hide"?

Drew was correct as usual about the patent issue and the dot. The headweights are 335 for the stainless ,350 and 370 for the coppers. In the future this putter could be made at 350 for the stainless with a little tweaking.

 

Byron just likes the look and feel of this putter. He still has the 370 copper and it is for sale...

Found out why Byron likes this particular model. He prefers a putter without offset. He uses the face to square up to the target.

 

Byron is packing up the 370 gram putter today .. so if anyone wants it...

Give me a sight dot at the nape of the neck opposed to a sight line on the flange and you've got me sold. :russian_roulette:

Not a fan of this putter. Much prefer the 006,007 & MO-T model.

would love to have one of these in the copper... definately put it into production, again it's a fantastic looking putter.

The true reuter jr. bullseye has beveled edge at both the top and the sole. It aslo has a radial (rounded) sole that it effecrtively fits players needing a wide range of lie angles. Also, the toe and heel of the bullseye are rounded.

 

All of the above are significant in why the bullseye was so popular. The Byron in your photo has too many straight edges and corners, it is not graceful like a bullseye putter.

I'd love to have a heavier, zero-offset putter in my rotation. I've played with an old Spalding TPM with no offset, and loved the way the allignment worked. Very simple, clean, and easy to compute.

Tried those out when I visited Byron's shop. Out of curiosity I asked what he was gaming and he pulled out the SS one from his bag. Man, it was solid. I loved how the ball felt compressed at impact and convinced me I will be getting a SS 007. Can't believe it was only a 335g head. Felt like it was at least 350g. The copper ones were definitely heavier but didn't seem by much. I imagine people would have to try these out in order to really appreciate them.

 

And you're right, Drew. Took me a while to get 'em to drop on his track but of course, he was draining them left and right. I originally thought maybe you're Turf Surfer was broken since it wouldn't go straight on there. I swear, you don't see any break!

I'm guessing it would be a prohibitive pain-in-the-ace to mill and shape, but a copper JB 02 would make a nice limited run item! :drinks:

I like the OMG 5 in steel, reminds me of my Grandpa's Ironmaster I played in high school. The JB 02 in copper, I don't think anyone is making that head shape in that material right now, might be a nice niche-filler.

Damn good idea.

 

JB02 is a cast puter, FYI.

 

Milling it would be possible, but VERY slow and complicated to do that hosel.

This is a awesome putter. Morris make sure you give us some new pictures of that copper MP 006.
