Best Place in Atlanta for a Driver fitting

Any advice on getting fit for a driver in the Atlanta area? I'm a 4 handicap hitting a 905R with V2 Stiff flex shaft 9.5 degrees. I hit the ball very straight and used to hit it very far but it seems the guys in the group behind me last weekend were hitting it 20 yards or so past where I was. I play a Bridgestone Tour B330 Ball. Any thoughts on what to try and where to try it? Also ball suggestions. I play the B330 because I used to get them for cheap but now want the best out of the ball. Thanks.

PGATOUR Superstore huh? Anyone else ever use them? I have one close by and it looks like PING is doing a demo day there tomorrow. I'm thinking about canceling my Tee Time to go get fit.

If Ping is doing a demo day then there should be a ping rep there that will know their products well and should get you fit correctly.

You have to be careful with which person at the PGA SS gives you fitting advice. I frequent the Duluth and Roswell stores and have found at both that there are good fitters and bad fitters and some that are in between. Of course they have the 30 day playability guarentee so if what you get you don't like then you can exchange for the same amount so it is not loss there. Also, ask the associate to check the simulator specs and make sure that they haven't been fooled with. I have been in there where I was hitting it 290 or so which the only way I can do that is downhill with a strong tail wind in the mountains. I asked the guy to check and sure enough it was a strong tail wind factored in and some other setting was off.

Good luck, with out a doubt they have the largest inventory of anywhere around.

I live around the corner from the Roswell location and spend a little time and money there (way too much, according to my wife). I went through a fitting using the Callaway opti fit and wasn't all that thrilled. The fitter seemed to be fixated on the NV shaft and kept pointing me back to that shaft telling me how popular it was. I didn't have a lot of faith in their LM either - the fitter told me that I needed some very odd launch angle and spin rate "for that particular model." I'm certianly no expert but it just seemed rushed and not entirely reliable. Having said that, their selection is great, even for us leftys, and they're a friendly bunch.

Thanks. I went today and while I tried all the new drivers and ended up with the Superquad I will have to say I am sure there are better options for a fitting. The kid that helped me thought he was "it" and seemed rather bored with the whole process. He kept pushing the FT5 and while I hit good I just couldn't get used to the sound. Really loved the Superquad. I picked up the 9.5 with the re-ax X flex 65 gram shaft. I was consistantly hitting it farther and straighter than any other club. If you want to go through a "real" fitting I would suggest some place else. The Superstore is nice but more for the everyday hacker who knows nothing. I think I'm going to try the GolfDoctor next out in Woodstock. That or GA Golf Center. I used to see Elkins out there for lessons and from what I understand they have a nice little operation now. NOT NOT NOT NOT The Superstore or Edwin Watts. Don't get me wrong, I love the Superstore as much as I love Chick-fil-A (and that's a lot), but it's not the place for a real driver fitting.

I'll second The Golf Doctor in Woodstock. They use Trackman and fit you outdoors.

You can also get a good fitting for Nike, Mizuno, or Ping at BridgeMill Golf Academy in Canton.
