Thrift Shop - Putter Help ?

If I don't stop, I'm going to need my own Thrift Shop forum. I picked up a couple of interesting putters today and haven't had a lot of luck making much sense out of them online. Anyone here familiar with these?

Wilson Lady-Ette: I have found a couple of these on ebay, but with some odd descriptions and a little different stamping. I see a couple with the "8802" appended to this name and it is very similar in style, I think. This particular one has the "Lady-ette" written in incursive and that makes me wonder if it might be real old. It also has a very strange grip (not in photo) that I would describe as looking like "wrapped cork".

'Scottie' REG 437: This is a reversible milled-face "hunk-of-metal". I have also seen some mention of these on the bay but they are quite different. I don't think it is a simple knock-off; it is either a Scottish local or just someone's name....but that REG 437 is odd to me. There were a lot of clubs that were listed that way and I need some insight into why.

Tuffy-

the "Wilson" stamping is from the 50s, and the "Lady-ette" would fit into the sporting goods line Wilson would have for women who, after watching Patty Berg and Mildred "Babe" Didricksen Zaharias (Wilson) Louise Suggs and Betsy Rawls (MacGregor) and the fledgling LPGA Tour, were taking up the game.

The "SCOTTIE" putter might be from the same time period...1950s, and may be from the sporting goods line, as REG 457 shows.

Referring to "Two-Way" putters with scoring lines as "hunks of metal" doesn't do justice to those working craftsmen and women from the past.

Rex....Thank you.

I wrote the "hunk" statement with genuine affection and admiration. I bought it for that very reason; I wouldn't use any OTHER style of putter. I'd sure like to understand the Wilson offerings in the "Lady-ette" a bit better. Your estimate takes in back quite a bit further than I would have thought. As for the "Scottie", who would have made it?

Tuffy-

There were quite a few makers of putters during this time besides MacGregor, Spalding, and Wilson.

Northwestern and Burke are two names which easily come to mind. Otey Crisman for Hickory shafted ones.

Am sure someone out there has more than common knowledge about sporting goods/store-line putters.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
