Any great course in Vancouver BC?

Due to job requirement, I will have to be in Vancouver BC every month and each stay about 2 weeks. Trying to look for some nice course to play. I have played the Riverway and Northview Canal. Riverway and Northview are really good even it's wet and after heavy rain. Need to know any great course that is still good after rain! Also looking for golfers to play with instead of playing alone.

Man, I miss my Los Angeles golf courses, it's dry! :)

Vancouver doesn't have many great courses.

You might try Fraserview, which is about 10 minutes northwest of Riverway. It's tree-lined and generally not too soggy in the winter.

The only Vancouver area course I've played is King's Links. Quirky, and I could have used a lot more local knowledge. Some greens, if you miss the correct area, you can't stop the ball at the hole. But it was a lot of fun!

Frasierview is not a great track IMO. Westwood plateau is always a great time and very reasonable rates considering all rates come with gps carts and exceptional service. I would also recommend peace portal and Northlands if you want to venture out from the central lowermainland a little bit.

Depends how far out of downtown Vancouver you want to go. There are lots of solid courses out there.

Northview is in the Surrey area. If you are willing to go there, you might want to try Morgan Creek which is close. Great course but it's gotten pricy in recent times.

Kings Links isn't what I'd call 'quirky'. :) It's just a true links course and if you've never played one it can be a bit startling, especially now that it's starting to firm up. I joined as a member this year.

Most of the 'great' courses in Vancouver are private (Shaughnessy/Capilano/Point Grey/Vancouver Club) so you need to know somebody. Not me, unfortunately.

There are a lot of really good courses, though. As mentioned, it depends on how far you are willing to travel.

What is the price range of the courses you want to play?

Are you a member at a private club in LA? If so your club pro may be able to arrange a reciprocal or at least playing privileges with fees at some of the private clubs in Vancouver.

Are you able to drive outside of Vancouver. There are some great courses within a couple of hours in Whistler and Pemberton.

Also there are some great courses just south of the border in Bellingham.
