My half set! 7 clubs only!

Here is my halfset of 7 clubs. I do have Another full set but a light sunday bag for spontaneous rounds can come in handy.

 

Driver: Callaway XR

Shaft: Project X 6.0

 

22 hybrid: Callaway XR

Shaft: Project X 6.0

 

Irons: Power Play Caiman X2 Tour Blade, 6i, 8i, Pitch and a 56 wedge.

Shaft: DG S300

 

And one Odyssy putter..

 

The irons are blades but my longest iron is the 6i so this works for me perfectly. And besides they have forgivness.. Magic blades? Just love them :)

Nice-looking irons. Aren't they also a bit of a rarity: cast blades?

With 7 clubs, what's your biggest gap? The hybrid to 6i? or the Driver to hybrid?

Yes they are cast but have a very good feel and sound on good hits. My biggest gap is between driver and 22 hybrid. Depending on where i play i might take away the driver and put in my 3 Wood instead. 22h to my 6 iron is also a gap but so far it works great.

I've hit some cast blades (Akira) and really liked them.

On topic, if I was able to play more rounds a year than I currently do (10-12 rounds a year for me right now), I would love to go round with a half set a few times. I reckon it would be a lot of fun.

It is really great. I am using a pencil bag with 7 clubs in it. Doesnt weight anything at all. Its really nice going with this set. And its also really easy to choose wich club to use

Brilliant! I'm a minimal golfer too but I use 8.....I have a 7 wood in as extra! But a fine set up

Beauty of a setup. Equipment manufacturers should take note that 14 clubs can be real pain and that a number of players are finding less to be more. Nothing against the standard 14 club set but it's not what works best for everyone.

I have a full set aswell but using 13 clubs. I could actually remove 2 clubs with no problems. And if i just put one more club into my halfset I will be more then fine:) A 3 Wood would fill the gap.

I currently play better with my full set. But the differense is very small. I am new to this halfset thing and really like it.

impressed that you're comfortable playing with a half set. I could probably play with 12 but any lower and I don't think I would enjoy it.

Nice! I'm planning to build a half set bag as well. I'd probably go with D/3W/3I/6I/9I/56/Putter. Never heard about Caiman before but it looks nice and kinda remind me of Callaway X Forged.

During the summer when playing at my local muni, I'll throw in 7-8 clubs into a carry bag for a quick round. D/ 4h/6i/8i/PW/52/58/P. It is alot of fun and I find that I focus a little more with my shots (less tools to dig my way out of trouble). I score the same as I would with a full bag. it really helps my short game.

Same as i go with:) I could put in Another club so i have 8. Add my 3 Wood, fill the gap abit but almost never needed.

So I decided to play with the half set the other day (set up listed above) and moved those sticks from my full bag into my Sunday bag. So when I went to reach for my 6i....it wasnt there. I mistakenly grabbed my 9i. There were a couple holes where I really wish I had that stick.
