Shoreacres Condition

My boss and I are headed out to Chicago for a work conference this weekend, and we have an option to either play in the conference hosted tournament at Ruffled Feathers which we have done before, or to make the trek to Shoreacres.

We do have an in over there, so access isn't the issue. However we don't want to forego the work related tourney and pay a small fortune for unaccompanied guest fees/caddies etc. if the course has just been aerated or still roughed up from the winter.

Has anyone played over there this year that can comment on the condition?

If I were in your spot, I would play Shoreacres in any condition. I think a nuke could go off on every fairway and I would get out there and play.

To be honest though, a lot of the courses in this area are being a little slow in getting back to mid season form. Are they playable, sure, but there are some patches.

I just met the super from Shoreacres last week. He seemed excited about the courses shape when I asked about it. I don't think the course is ever in bad shape in all honesty though.

While I've played some good privates here that were in rough shape before (medinah, ofcc), shoreacres is one of those courses you do NOT have to worry about from a conditions perspective.

Last efforts to persuade the boss to go to Shoreacres are failing. Looks like I'll be playing Ruffled Festhers.

I haven't played there in a long time. I don't think they call it the Shoreacres of the southwest suburbs though.

You know it was actually in very good condition. Given that it was sunny and 78 I was bummer we didn't make it out North of the city but it was still a fun day. Good set of Par 3's on that course, though we played it from the golds, from the tips they would be a lot of fun.
