Help me pick a hybrid shaft! (95-100 grams)

MiamiMonkey; my vote would be for the Phenom. I use one in my 915h, albeit the 80 gram stiff, and think it's a great shaft, 915f has one, too.

Play the new irod 95x myself in a rbz1 head. This shaft is very stable. Can be placed in all orientations. Not stout but is very strong shaft.

The nunchuk is fantastic too. Slightly heavier but very powerful. Great for hard hitters with fast hands. I played this a long time in my 910Hy.

Nunchuk plays with little spin.

 

I tried the Tini Hy but it was just a bit too loose towards the tip. Head kicked in just prior to impact and the ball turned left with a fishhook curve at the end of the flight.

 

My suggestion is to drop the Steelfiber I95 iron model. It is okay for an iron but the deadweight is close to 91 grams. Pretty good feel but not very stable imho.

I know steel is not on the list but a KBS Hybrid could be a nice match too.

Thanks very helpful. Do you notice increased distance with the iRod? I think that's the top of my list so far

It is always tough to compare different shafts on length. I look at ballspeed, launchangle, apex and overall flight.

Personally I don't care much for an extra 5yds plus. Long shots go long by definition so control is what I care for.

To each his own I guess.

I found this shaft on eBay for $20 and definitely wanted to give it try.

The control of the balllflight is outstanding and it is definitely long enough to use as a play club on the tee.

I have been reading about the KBS Hybrid shafts on here and it actually sounds like it could be very good for me. Maybe a little heavy but worth a try at its price. I have updated the OP with the current shortlist!

Luckily for you most are fairly cheap lol

 

I tried the 95f4t or whatever hybrid. By far my fav chrome version during that time. stable, good kick, not horrible spin.

 

You mentioned the g95. I love this shaft but not sure its what youre after. It played very similar to ad di, but obviously not as smooth.

 

The phenom, or maybe speeder 9.8, Elements MK and the nunchuk (what came to mind when you sent pm) are all good options.
