West Lafayette Courses to play

I am thinking about going to Purdue to play the Kampen course and the newly renovated Ackerman course. Am I better off playing Coyote Crossing instead? Is Kampen still better than the post renovated Ackerman course??

I played the Kampen course and thought it was fantastic but I didn't play either other course so I cant really make the comparison.

I made a tee time at Purdue for 36 holes (both courses) $129 for all day play. I will report back in a few weeks.

We just played both two weeks ago. Kampen was great as always, maybe a little soft for my taste. The new ackerman course is great, the greens were firm and quick. The renovation did a great job and it is a really good course. There are a couple blind tee shots that can really put you in danger if you don't know where to aim on ackerman, try to pair up with someone who has played it. We enjoyed both courses and the two complement each other well.

We also did 36 at coyote crossing the next day, course was great and similar issues of overwatered and soft.

Kampen is great. Had a brought my clubs to school I would probably still be there.

Any improve the to Ackerman is going to make that course better. I never liked how it played for some reason.

Trophy Club is not far away in Lebanon, very nice linksy style of course. Rated top 10 public in Indiana annually.

If you traveling from the Cincy area a stop at the Trophy Club would be a bonus, a few other courses by Tim Liddy in the area are Rock Hollow and Harrison Hills. Another to consider although it has been a while since I visited was Wilcat Creek towards Kokomo. You have many options for some great golf at reasonable prices, take full advantage.
