Wouldn't like to see it, and won't ever happen. The Masters is The Masters and The U.S. Open is the Open. The only professional tournament that will ever be held at Augusta National is The Masters. It's too valuable a commodity to water down by having other professional tournaments played there.

Besides, the course shuts down in the summer, so there's no shot of having men's or women's U.S. Open there. The membership would revolt.

I like the above poster's comments, made me laugh, not on the floor or anything, though - that hurts.

Anyways, seriously doubt that it will ever, ever, happen.

Edit: Imagine it if they played off the back tees, too. Zach Johnson shot +1 this year, and the runners-up shot +3. It just wouldn't be fun golf to watch with the women struggling around that track. I'm sorry if I offend anyone but it's true.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but this is only my opinion, so please respect that fact. We can agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I don't care much for the master's. Their arrogance is what turns me off (patrons, Gary McCord, etc). And listening to Jim Nantz, ugh. I've seen less reverence in a church.

I think Augusta National would be a wonderful venue for the LPGA. This all male thing is getting a bit stale. No reason AN couldn't host an LPGA major event (other than the fact they think they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, and one can infer they would prefer their women at home cooking).

I would love to see it. I think that is would be the ultimate in poetic justice. I have no problem with Augusta keeping itself an all male club. I know that it would never happen. I would be interesting to see what would have to happen to the course to make it playable for the women. The greens would have to be dramatically slowed down for the simple fact that they couldn't hold a spinning 8-iron shot during the Masters, so what make anybody think that it would hold a shot from a 25* hybrid. The scores would be astronomical.

I however was quite bored at this years tournament, because we don't need two US Open tournaments in one year. The elitist attitude of the members just ruins it for me.

The Masters seems to be the one tournament that finds more people on both sides of the fence, most either love it or hate it. I love the Masters and everything it stands for, it is refreshing to me to see the members have enough guts not to buckle to the pressures of society and political correctness for what they believe is right.

The club is private, it does not and should not have to fold to pressures from anyone group of people in regards to who it allows on the grounds or part of its membership.

As for seeing a womans tournament played on its grounds, I will take a pass. They would have to make so many adjustments most would not recognize the place.

On the other hand I am not a huge fan of all the changes they have made to the course. But that is the case with most Major set ups that seem to almost eliminate a large portion of the field for lack of distance.

I know I know Zack Johnson is not a long ball hitter, nor is Mike Weir. But we all have to admit they are fighting a huge uphill battle when stepping to the first tee on any venue stretching 7200 plus.

What ever happened to the PGA Tour saying the average set up would be 7000 yards each week. Per David Toms, if we play 7300 one week, the next week should be 6700. That surely has not happened.

Nah...it would be boring, IMHO. Amen corner wouldn't be the same when it's not played during the Masters. Plus, as others have noted, the course is closed shortly after the Masters, which is when ANGC makes their secret changes for the next year. To play the course in late June would be tough...I'm not sure if the ladies, playing from the tips, could break 76-77.

Would love to see it happen, but you got better odds on a pygmy getting elected president of the USA.

Hey, come on now. Hillary at least has a shot at the presidency *grinz*

I agree with the majority that it will never happen, especially given the whole Martha Burke fiasco .... but I think it would be great for the game, especially the LPGA if they did. Rather than it being a US Open, for just one weekend a year, have the LPGA have their own Masters played there. Have the gals play from the members tees, not the PGA tips. Talk about ratings .... I TIVO the LPGA, but I'd be glued to the tube to watch this. It's a shame the gals don't have their own course with the history, mystique, and prestige like an Augusta National

Aside from the obvious issue of Augusta being closed in the summer, I'm for women playing a tournament there, even a major. But the USGA should never, ever, ever (did I say ever?) be allowed to get its hands on Augusta and grow rough the way they do at Oakmont or Pine Needles. Any tournament but the Women's Open will do.

Totally agree, I love Bobby Jones and Augusta as a course but I hate watching the Masters. Stingy people, yeah it would be cool for the ladies to play there but there are plenty of other courses to play where everyone is welcome.

I think it would be interesting to see how much of a skill difference there is between the LPGA and PGA.

I always did enjoy watching the LPGA just as much as any other PGA tourn. and no not just for the chicks. Alot of the time they cant hit it as far and have to rely on a good short game which similar in my case.

so all in all, ya US open @ Augusta would be cool IMO

I'd love it. I can see it now......Michelle Wie get an exemption and shots 103. We can all dream can't we.

Her life long dream of playing at Augusta would be fulfilled

It would bring in alot of interest into the LPGA

It would repair the image of AN's membership. The woman haters club!

I would Like to see it. I would definately watch all four rounds.

I never cared much for the Masters either, and the US Women's Open has enough prestige of it's own, so I don't even care for the thought of an Open held at Augusta.

Are you guys nuts?

I mean i respect everyones opinion and all but the Masters????

Best tournament in golf and i dont want to see a thing changed. Not one bit!
