Played Wild Turkey today for two buddies. No one in front and snow on some holes / greens. Greens were a little slow and cart path only, but overall, very fun and amazing day to play. It was 69 degrees out in Hamburg, NJ. Got on the green three times but snow was in the way / in the middle of the snow. Couldn't putt and had to chip. Still a fun day.

 

I might try to stop by La Tourette or Silver Lake Saturday in the early afternoon for 9 holes before the rain comes. Just love walking those courses.

Ahhh, I can't do Saturday this week. Only Sunday. Have a good round and let us know that the course is like.

Walked up to Silver Lake this afternoon. $20 dollar walking special. Amazed at the pace of play in the front 9. 1:10 mins. Then back 9 was slower, 2 hours. Greens were pretty good / fast. Course was overall in good shape for having snow just last week.

+1, played Silver Lake Friday ($35 riding) and it's in pretty good shape for February. 11 is having some work done (new sod) and the ground is a little soft, but otherwise no snow anywhere. Pace of play was a little rough on the back 9 too, but I was also stuck behind a father giving his uninterested kid a "playing lesson" :diablo:

I played Beaver Brook on Saturday. 8:30 tee time, we were done before 11:45. Course was in ok shape - greens could use some love, etc. - but it's February so no complaints. Put it this way...the course was in better shape than my game...

I played Bethpage Blue yesterday. Thought I would take a little "sick day" before the snow and cold weather comes back this weekend. Course is in really nice condition, I was really impressed. Can't get better for $38.

 

The Red and Green open in a couple of weeks and the Black in April.

That was smart, I'm jealous. I was hoping to play next weekend but that doesn't look likely with this weather. Hopefully we can all be playing by the masters.

Skyway ended up cancelling on us. Went to Chelsea pier driving range instead. They started raising the nets the moment I started warming up, someone must have warned them about me.

 

Ate at Spotted Pig afterwards, Roll Mops were excellent everything else was just ok.

They should be open by then. Some warm weather coming up this week. Also the farther Long Island courses didn't get as much snow as we did in New York City. I received an email from Pine Hills in Manorville that says they are open now. I'm starting to hate this late season snow.

I don't think the snow will melt in time for the course to be ready. I'd say the following weekend courses will start opening again. I hope.

Wow, I'm amazed at that, especially how they are extra careful with all that snow. Maybe it wasn't as bad, snow wise for them out there. I'll try to make it out there during the week. Can't wait for Red and Black to open.

It's supposed to rain Saturday, so who knows if the day will be a waste. I'm hoping Black and Red open soon. I'm off from work the week after the Masters and would love to get a few rounds in.

 

Edit: The Red Course is scheduled to open Friday March 31st, per the Bethpage Tee Times hotline. No word on Black yet.

I called Le Tourette this morning. They say they are closed until at least Monday. Not sure about the others.

 

I'm thinking about playing Bethpage on Saturday. Itching to get out.

I played Bethpage blue yesterday morning. Conditions were really good, tiny bits of snow in places like ditches off the fairway, but hardly noticeable.

 

Greens in good condition. First and second greens didn't appear to have been mowed, the rest were just fine.
