what's the index percentage, and what's the cumulative percentile all about...?

since the beginning of May, my cap has come down from 24.4 to the current 15.5... i'm steadily improving, but am now going to make a real push to get into the single digits before the end of this year...

steadily improving??? thats one hell of a jump! congrats! i was a 17.1 in April and am a 14.1 now, but almost 10 strokes off your game is a great accomplishment.

 

i'm sorry, but i cannot help you out with the percentage things. where do you keep track of your handicap?

i figure if i can start hitting about 5-7 more greens a round, i should easily be able to shave another 5-7 strokes per round... at this point i'm only hitting 5-9 greens... so if i can get to 10-13 by the end of this year, i should be able to drop to a 9... my putting is steadily improving, with fewer 3 putts, usually 1-3 a round right now...

Great work lowering your cap 9 strokes in a year. That is awesome! I play to a 14.5 currently and wish I could hit 8-9 GIR per round. I am hoping the MP-60's give me a little better shotmaking capabilities.

i think going from 24 to 15 was easy, but imagine going from 15 to 9 will be much more difficult... and then to get to low singles will be a monumental feat...

i always wonder why topics get moved around too... this has NOTHING to do with my swing, fitness, or a beginner question... it's a simple golf question not related to equipment, which i placed in that particular forum, and now it's here...

 

i think there is a severe amount of "over moderating" done here sometimes...

My guess is that 5.54% of the users on the site have a handicap index of 15.5 (or probably more like 15).

 

You're in the 52%tile of the users on the site. Meaning 52% of the people on the site have a handicap lower than you. So you're in the middle of the pack, hence the "Average" golfer ranking.
