What area to stay in Miami for golf

I am going to Miami in January and wanted to know where in Miami to book an hotel/airbnb to be close to several golf courses? Is there an area that is better than others when it comes to golf?

I am not an expert on Miami, but in my opinion you should stay and play north of Miami around Ft. Lauderdale.

Palm Beach county..... miami is avg at best but palm beach has boat loads of courses. Some decent courses in broward as well....

Similar question ... I'll be in Miami for business in early January. Considering coming in one day early with the chance to play one round (or potentially two rounds in one day) with the need to be finished by around 5:30 or 6 PM in the evening.

Question: (1) between crowds and daylight hours can I get two rounds in one day done on a Monday and (2) Where should I play if I need to be in downtown Miami by Monday night?

Part of me says Doral is the place to go, just because I've seen it on TV, but open to suggestions. Can you play Doral without staying there?

I played a number of public courses near downtown Miami the last couple of weeks: my recommendations would be Melreese (in good condition, challenging greens), Normandy Shores, Crandon.

I thought Miami Shores, Miami Beach Golf Club, Biltmore were just OK.

Didn't play Miami Springs, Doral courses, etc.

Just got back last weekend. Only Miami courses I played were at Doral, Blue Monster and Red Tiger. I wouldn't pay that much to play Blue Monster again, but I'm glad I played it. It's tough. Red Tiger I liked a lot better. It was fun and I would definitely play it again. I played with a couple at PGA National that had played Turnberry and Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne. They said Turnberry was being worked on and didn't much like it but said they loved Crandon Golf.

This is what I have booked so far:

Doral Red Tiger

Doral Blue Monster

Jacaranda East and West

Deering Bay

These I am also playing but have not been able to book yet since I am a single player:

Normandy Shores

Crandon Golf

Melreese

That is the plan so far, we'll see if I do more than two 36hole days. Not sure yet, haven't decided since I want to do more than just golf while I am there.
