Help Me Plan My Week-long Golfing Trip To Scotland 2019

The caddie cash is merely for payment of our caddies. We are all walking, and we are hiring four caddies each day of the trip, and I am paying each one a flat rate of 100 quid, so that means 400 quid each day, which amounts to about $520 per day. My bank has a withdraw limit of $500 per day, which I may need if something unexpected happens. ATM's are certainly convenient, but I have had my debit card skimmed before, so that is why I am pursuing this route.

5 minute call to the bank and your limit is higher. ATM skimming is no more likely in Scotland than down the street. You’re wasting time and money and have no rationale for it. That’s fine, your choice, but it is hard to give poor advice so there’s not much else to help here.

 

Caddie fees should vary quite substantially BTW. That’s the only other thing you should take into account.

So for now everything seems to be going smoothly. We are all in the pre-packing phase, which is the period to buy things needed and to organize what to pack as well as making advance arrangements. The actual packing will be either the evening before or morning of departure. The flight from SFO will be an evening flight, so we will have time to pack in the morning. I think we will just get together at a diner and have breakfast before our driver will pick us up and take us to the airport. We will have one driver drop us off and pick us up at SFO Int'l. For now, we are making arrangements with our banks to give travel notification as well as exchanging a little currency, not to mention adding money to the correct accounts to draw from ATM machines when needed.

 

The Experience at St. Andrews gave us a very detailed itinerary of exactly what we will be doing each day of our journey. Every day is planned by the hour. We will have a driver pick us up at the airport and we will proceed directly to the hotel, rest up, and everything else will go to schedule. Once in country, I will start a new thread of our trip, most likely giving updates in the evenings as I wind down. Stay tuned, folks.
