Thryoid problems and golf what did you do?

So I'm not sure this is the correct place to post this but I am positive it doesn't belong in the Tour Issued Forum. Anyone on here Hypothyroid because of having their thyroid ablated and what do you do to make your symptoms lessened? I am currently on synthroid and its really not doing much of anything other than costing me money every month to take a pill. My golf game is suffering because I have no desire to do much of anything before or after work.

I don’t have thyroid issues but have a bunch of family members that do and expect that I will eventually. My understanding is that once your condition is stabilized/medication dose is figured out your symptoms should lessen or hopefully go away. If you’ve been on your med for a week or two & still don’t feel to great I’d call & ask your doc for recommendations. Best of luck.

u need to see your doctor and see if your TSH and FreeT4 levels are normal. If they show persistent hypothyroidism u need an increased ur dose of synthroid. If they are normal then something else is going on (most common being depression). hope that helps and hope u start to feel better soon! also synthroid dosing/treating hypothyroidism can take a month or two to get corrected....

Do yourself a favour. Find a doctor qualified in functional medicine and go and see them. If they're any good, they will do everything in their power to identify the root cause of the problem and fix it with natural treatments. Note that natural does NOT mean ineffective. On the contrary in fact.

What they won't do is prescribe you a drug that masks the symptoms (whilst likely causing numerous other side effects) and send you away.

I get my levels checked every month and every month my dose of synthroid goes up and I still feel exactly the same. I have researched a couple things one being called armor and the other nature thyroid both of which you need scripts for but it actually contains t3 which is what I am low in because my body doesn't seem to like to take t4 and make t3 out of it. Just frustrated, and looking for possible answers.

im going on 4 months now of blood work pills, blood work higher dose, rinse repeat.
