NEW NIKE IC PUTTERS

I like the use of the color green, but my goodness those putters are two of the worst looking putters I have ever seen. I wish they would go away from these designs as they do absolutely nothing for me.

 

Like I said though I really don't mind the color just the putters looks.

Those are some real beaut's!! Same for the Sumo irons. If they keep this up, they might just have to stop building golf clubs. Or sell them at Toys 'R' Us.

Are they selling to mini golf or pro shops? These are ugly and will not sell, but maybe the mini golf establishments will get a good deal. They look cheap and most likely are made cheap. Tiger would never give up his Scotty putter for this cheapness!

The green doesn't look as bad as described, plus I find it interesting how Nike is taking the square MOI look all the way down to the putter level... interesting.

Wow, nice pics and everything, but it's like watching a car crash when you know someone is going to die. Brutal.

 

Nike has thrown money at all their equipment weaknesses before, and they've become pretty good in those markets, why not putters? Surely there is a putter designer out there that could work for Nike?

Let me go one step further and instead of completely bashing the putter to no end, offer some constructive criticism...

 

IMO, the major flaw with these is the finish, they look as though they were sprayed with flat black spray paint... not the most flattering of finishes. The sole of the putter looks very good actually... they need to pull that effect around to the top side. Additionally, the perpendicular white topline does not help the aesthetics... especially when it's being broken up by the double bend shaft. I want to assume the "IC" tag is to promote the alignment design, but the topline really detracts from the alignment aid on the flange, which in and of itself, appears like it might actually have some promise.

 

I doubt these are going to be very successful if they make it to production in their current state, but I'm afraid Nike is going to let them fly like this.

 

The comments on the grips is just a moot point... nearly every OEM is using soft Winn grips these days... and they all look a bit boring.

It's products like these that shows you how far behind Nike is from Scotty Cameron and Odyssey/Titleist. Nike should quit making putters like these and get a clue. To become a serious contender with putters, Nike will need to make something like the Scotty Cameron Stainless Steel Studio Putters or the Odyssey Black Series of Putters.

Really, I am surprised Nike hasn't went ALL OUT and come up with something along the lines of Cameron Quality.

 

Their golf clubs, for the most part, have really improved in the last few years....

come up with a number. the last three digits of the fort worth or beaverton zip code. put this number on the front of the putter where the swoosh is on the unitized tiempo. the last three digits of the beaverton zip code is 005. perfect.

303 GSS. retail $250.00.

Yeah this looks to be a $75 putter aimed at the guy that will buy anything with a swoosh on it. The guy who never quite evolved past the age of 15 in terms of buying product.

I don't understand how a company that has made such in-roads with it's driver and iron (to a lesser extent) designs can be so clueless with it's putter designs.

 

Seriously, if anyone from Nike is reading this, fire whoever green-lighted those putters.

what is going on at nike that noone speeks up and says to the design folks that their putters are jokes in looks and performance for the price. I mean the flat black looks great, the black shaft not so much, but the stripes off of a '70s muscle car have got to go. Hell Tiger plays for them, you'd think they would ask the #1 player in golf his opinion on atleast what looks work for him. Even more so since he holds alot of sway in terms of people want to be like Tiger and want to use the same equipment he does.

 

I just don't get them, I play a Hi-Bore that doesn't look like most drivers but it isn't ugly and it performs awesome for what I paid for it. And last but not least, a green headcover?... Yeah that wont blend in when it falls in the grass one bit. My 2 cents
