Putting your own "combo set" together

I've been thinking about this for some time and wonder if it's worth it. I currently play Titleist 704cb's with Fujikura Vista Pro 90's. I'm a 5 hdcp. and hit them well -- no complaints, really. I have the itch to get back into some blades -- 670's specifically -- and would like to use the 7-8-9-P of the 670's with the 4-5-6 of the 704's.

Now assuming I could put the same shafts in all of them and get the lofts gapped correctly, is it really worth it? In a way I think it might be better to just go with the whole new set like the 735's.

Like I said, this is just a thought at the moment. The 704's have really been good for me this year and for what I have invested in them with the Fuji shafts I would take a beating on selling or trading them in. Of course, I could always keep them as a back-up and get a new set of 735's for gamers.

Hmmmmm.....I may have just talked myself into something!!!!

First off, I personally think it would be weird to have a set of blades with little offset, and a set of cavities with a good amount of offset together in the same set. Also the blades are forged carbon steel, and the 704's are forged stainless steel. There is a big difference in feel in my opinion.

If you go with the 735's remember the chrome ones are forged carbon steel, and the "satin" ones are forged stainless. If you want irons similar in feel to your 704's go with the satins. If you want a softer feel, go with the chrome 735's.

Why not get the 735CMs, put the Fuji Vista Pro 90 shafts in them, and put the stock shafts from the CMs into the 704CBs, and then sell the 704s?

I agree with Steve that to go from offset cavity backs that are satin to minimally offset blades that are chrome would be a little weird for my brain.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
