Course Pass Guide?

Does anyone have a list of course passes and if they are a good deal or not? I'd rather not play Papago 20 times in this winter. If I can get a weekend walk rate under $80 for 10 rounds that would be fantastic. That may be a crazy goal.

 

I know there is

 

We-Ko-Pa Pass. Most agree not worth it

Troon Pass. Good amount of courses

Talking Stick Pass.

TPC Pass.

 

Does Camelback have one?

 

All these typically have a 3 day booking period which worries me. Any reviews on these?

honestly....the best deal is the city card...gives you a great rate on the city courses including Papago, Aguila, and GCU which are 3 very good courses. For $50 initial and $30 renewal, i'm not sure anything can beat that. Troon is way over priced imo unless you always bring people to play. The TS pass isn't too bad though but the North is a way better course and I wouldn't care to play the south more than once or twice all winter. Camelback does not to my knowledge.

Based on a sign and some paperwork I saw in the pro shop a few weeks ago, Camelback would be happy to sell you a membership for $19,500 + $475/mo. dues + $18 cart fee. No discount pass that I'm aware of.

 

Unless you are a single or play a lot on weekdays, the 3-day booking window on a lot of these cards would worry me.

 

I keep getting emails from McDowell Mountain for a $99 pass with a 5-day booking window, but it is not clear how much the per-round discount is. Arcis is also promoting a card for their courses.

 

The PHX city card is a steal, the main benefits are important ones. Getting to book times before all the tourists get access to the tee sheet (though the GCU online booking engine doesn't seem to differentiate between cardholder and non-cardholder), and a much lower winter rate at Papago than what the tourists pay.

I have the city card. Obviously will play Papago but I do like Ambiente/Padre, Talking Stick North, Whirlwind but the winter rates are pricey.

 

The one that seems the most intriguing is Talking Stick. I will check out how their weekend looks on a Wednesday once they are opened up again. I play as a single or twosome most of the time and can play anytime. Wasn't sure if I was missing anything.
