Desert Springs Marriott is great, they have two courses that are fun but not amazing. Across the street is Desert Willow, one of the best in the area. The Firecliff course there is awesome.

IF you just want a nice place to stay in downtown PS, then the Viceroy is top notch. And if you want to stay out in La Quinta, the La Quinta Resort has access to 5 courses including the PGA West tracks. First rate.

The La Quinta Resort and the PGA West courses is the most fun for me. The hotel is low key and very relaxing. Don't bother with Dunes and Mountain courses at the hotel. If you want to see what life is like on the PGA Tour, play the Stadium Course from the tips!!

If you want a big, cool, busy hotel the Marriot Desert Springs is the place. And as mentioned here, play the Desert Willow courses across the street.

A sleeper is Indian Wells Country Club...old school but lots of fun

Another vote for the Desert Springs Marriot. Fun Hotel. The Mountain View course at Desert

Willow in one stroke easier than the Fire Cliff, but I think its a more scenic track. Good practice

facilities too. I also hear good things about Shadow Ridge. Good track, good accommodations.

Both of these places are in Palm Desert. La Quinta's always a good bet and pga west is usually

top notch if not rather costly.

Ahh yes. Played the Stadium Course once. I felt like I had been mentally

dragged by a truck for miles afterward :) . Very humbling.

And I enjoyed every minute of it.

Just got back from PS a couple weeks ago. We stayed at a boutique (50's style) hotel in Palm Springs, the Horizon. Was completely remodeled, and clean. Not alot of amenities that you will find at the modern hotels, but neat, and nostalgic. We also looked at the Viceroy, would have stayed there but couldn't accomodate all the people we had for a wedding. Had dinner at Zoso, restaurant was good, but can't really comment on the hotel accomodations.

Keep in mind if you stay in Palm Springs and intend to play PGA West courses, its about a 40 minute drive if there is any traffic, ton of red lights.

In-laws stayed at the Desert Springs Marriot, it was a very nice suite, and had alot of people hanging out at the pool areas, played the Palm course, it was "fun" good condition, but not extremely challenging. Also played PGA West Norman course, great condition, very much desert style similar to Phoenix/Scotsdale style. PGA Stadium course is a must play, had my a** handed to me for 18 holes and enjoyed all 18 (150 slope from the tips).

did you not take the 10???

its like a 10-15min drive from downtown PS to the PGA courses...no lights on the 10

No I was told that taking the 10 was the longer route and would be about the same amount of time................ ;) :clapping:

maybe slightly longer distance wise, but much MUCH faster. just think of what you could be doing with that extra 10minutes. :P
