Best on the LPGA? Any Video?

I don't watch much LPGA coverage but the few times this year I have, the player that has really stood out to me for a textbook golf swing is Angela Park, this year's rookie of the year. Haven't been able to study her swing as I don't have any video of it, but watching it realtime it looks outstanding. Whoever taught her how to swing like that is to be commended and obviously knows their stuff. Fine job!

Wondering if anyone has video, knows who her instructor is and what all of you think of her swing? From what I've seen, I think it may well be the best swing on the LPGA tour and maybe the best since Mickey Wright. Time will tell.

Why am I not surprised she doesn't work with a "top 10" instructor? First time I saw her swing, I mentally went through the GD "top 10" list and checked "no" next to their names. I'll have to take a closer look at Kevin Na's swing now. I think Angela Park has the most fundamentally sound swing on the LPGA and look forward to seeing how she progresses in her career. If she can improve her putting a bit, I predict great things for her.

Do you happen to know who Don Brown's teaching influences are? Don't know if Angela showed up to him with that swing or whether he built it, but if he did, he obviously has done his homework.

He is a friend of Mac's. But he does alot of his own stuff, hes been around along time. Not to forget hes a good player too.

So I decide to do a little more digging on Angela Park and check out the LPGA website and they have a Q&A with all of this years rookies. Here's one question that caught my eye:

If you could pick the dream round who would it be with and why?

Ans:

Ben Hogan, Tiger Woods, and Annika Sorenstam. I have so much to learn from them.

Guess I should have known she was a Hogan fan with that swing! I like her even better now. ;)

Like I said, I don't watch much LPGA coverage so haven't studied her swing. I think you meant that she tends to get a little quick, which is something I noticed yesterday. I also noticed that she gets up on her toes with her driver swing (both feet) which I really dislike (Ochoa does the same thing). Overall, her swing looks very good, she gets a lot of lag and is very powerful, has a lot of rotation so that's what is remeniscent of Hogan in her action to me. I'll take a closer look tomorrow and edit my post with what I see.

Watched today (Saturday) and saw Suzanne make some very good swings. Seemed to be swinging a little better than yesterday. I noticed on a couple of swings that she gets a little out of synch on her downswing (I'm nitpicking as she has a very good swing). She sometimes lets her shoulders catch up a bit early on the downswing and pass her hip turn early. Also saw her getting up on her toes at impact again with the driver (doesn't keep her left foot flat on the ground on the downswing). Overall very good swing though. Obviously a power player with a ton of game.

lol, yeah, I meant tends. Her rotation and flattish plane reminded me a lot of hogan, but I was never able to find any swing sequences to examine it more closely.

Agree. Not only a nice swing, but also appears exceptionally cool and focused on the course. She definitely has the look of a champion.

For sure, looks incredibly poised for a 19 year old. Hope she hangs in and goes toe to toe with Ochoa on Sunday.

Yeah I know for a fact that Don has worked with Mac in the past couple years. Angela has a great swing very smooth but very tight.

She has one of the best LPGA swings out there, So Smooth with great positions throughout her swing.

Not much information on her online. Based on her driving average, I'd guess around 98-100mph with driver. Not great, but she's only 5'5", young and doesn't look like she has a lot of upper body strength. Be interesting to see how she matures in the coming years. I really look forward to seeing her progress.

I think she'll come on strong today. Great chance to win which would be a great boost to her confidence (which apparently is lacking a little based on Dottie Pepper's comments yesterday). I'd love to see her win today.
