Epon vs Miura

I have to go with Miura because I love by 202's baby!

I've had the Epon 502s and Miura 301s and 202s. Longer, better feel, more forgiving and better turf interaction with Mizuno MP 53s.

Epon is the best of the best..there weights are perfect and top forgings..attention to detail is amazing

From what I understand Miura isnt even forging their irons in-house? There is no "Miura Foundry" which is a HUGE investment. Its done outside the factory and then its the finish and grind that is done inhouse? Miura is a WAY to small operation to be able to have their own forging machinery, its impossibe.
Endo is the number one forging company in the world, and Epon is their house brand so...Endo KNOWS forging more than probably anyone, they make a lot of precision instruments for the aerospace industry and also for the medical industry, where tolerances make golf clubs look like forming something with play-doe..
Kyoei is also a "real" forging house, house brand in the US I think is VEGA and also Zestaim.

pretty spot om vega..however vega pulled out of the usa market...it was a disagreement between usa and japan principles

Mizuno does NOT forge anything themselves. They subcontract to Chou Forging house that forges the stuff according to Mizuno's specs. Plus, mizuno have a patent for the "grain flow forged" technique. But Mizuno dont have theis own forging press either. Very few do, Endo (house brand Epopn) and Kyoei (vega, zestaim) and Geotech come to mind.

Epon 302's and the AF tour's

all sets are with the same build, and hands down Epon wins. Love the Epon's

Yeah I was suprised that so many loved miura over Epon's..alot of those posts were from 2007/2008..Epon is def considered the best of the best.
