I was wondering if you could explain COG's. What are they? Where are they suppose to be at the top, Impact, and finish?

The center of gravity can be related to several spots in the body. A center headed swing is one of the possible ways to control the motion of the swing due to the center of gravity change that could happen due the arms swinging into the backswing.

Why would you want to control these factors?

First off impact is the most important factor in ball striking; note the depth that Bobby's book details when he talks about the low point. Second to this is the ability to rotate the body faster or slower due to the body not making shifts which can lead to broken plane lines.

There are three main places on which the body will shift to control these factors. Head, body and Hips.

How you factor the shot at hand will determine how and were these placements are.

I will post a link to this from David Orr's sight which is a University tested basis on golf. I hope this explains the question which was asked.

Wikepedia has a very good explanation of Center of mass (or center of gravity which is the same thing in a uniform gravitational field)

Anything rotated about it's center of gravity can be rotated faster than if it is rotated about a point away from the center of gravity. In terms of the force required anyway, because the mass moment of inertia is lowest when rotation is about the Cg.
