Tour drivers ain't so great....

Ok, so I've been playing this tour R7 quad for about 5 months now, before that, it was a string of about 5-6 tour driver stemming all the way back to my Tourstage MARU Spec, which is still the most gorgeous driver on the planet. It still takes my breath away and I regret selling it. It's just too much money and too pretty to sit in the closet...

I got access to a special TMAG store and saw a R5 with Diamana 63X brand new with the wrapper still on it! lately I've been struggling a little keeping the ball in the fw, with the driver, so I figure what the hell, take her out for a spin...

Can I tell you I proceeded to hit some of the best drives of my life? Shot my low round of the year breaking 80 for only the 3rd time this year, hit every fw, 2 greens, and made 2 eagles. 1 on a par 5 and the other on a par 4 where I drove the green.

So... The Tour R7 quad is going up for sale.... I'm sticking a RETAIL R5, the WEIGHTS DON'T EVEN COME OUT!!! haha I can't change this club even if I wanted too...

I just wanted to add that, the tour FW's and hybrid will never leave the bag...

The search for the right club transcends the tour vs retail debate.

If I was clocking a TM Pitsburgh Persimmon past everything else modern, pride and vanity would go out the window. I'd play it.

I think too many clubs are in the bag due to prestige and posuer value to the detriment of many golfers games.

Good on you, retail is easy to find and normally cheaper too, stuff tour if you're in the weeds all the time!

I hit a retail R5 TP with a Diamana 83X and it was putting up some pretty impressive numbers. Ever shot was dead, solid, perfect! I called up my friend and told him I was thinking about getting one. He told me I was crazy and it couldn't beat out my X-Drive 405 in the long run. So I didn't get it. But I'm always looking to see if there is a good deal on it somewhere.

I know the retail R5 TP with a Diamana is pretty high end retail and would probably be better than some TOUR drivers, so the X-Drive might have to go in the closet for a little while, while I test drive another!
